La 'Protección para Cabeza y Cuello con bolsas de aire' consiste en una o varias bolsas de aire instaladas alrededor del casco, con Ia intención de que al producirse un accidente, reduzcan Ia severidad del impacto en Ia cabeza y en el cuello.

PROTECCIÓN PARA CABEZA Y CUELLO CON BOLSAS DE
AIRE
Cuando una víctima provista de casco tradicional, impacta contra un obstáculo recibe una desaceleración que es reducida por Ia deformación del material suave del interior del casco sin tener protección para el cuello.
La "Protección para Cabeza y Cuello con bolsas de aire" consiste en una o varias bolsas de aire, que se inflan sobre y abajo del casco, con Ia finalidad de amortiguar el impacto y reducir Ia desaceleración en Ia cabeza y limitando daños en el cuello.
Las bolsas se instalan aseguradas fuertemente a Ia periferia del casco, plegadas a todo su alrededor. Las bolsas se inflan, por medio de un explosivo o por medio de una cápsula con gas comprimido.
La señal para que el explosivo actúe o el gas infle las bolsas, puede ser de diferentes formas.
Las bolsas abarcan desde Ia parte superior del casco hasta bastante abajo del mismo, con Ia finalidad de proteger el cabeza al amortiguar un impacto contra el casco; y con Ia parte que se extiende hacia abajo y que llega a los hombros, espalda y pecho, proteger el cuello contra terceduras peligrosas, que pueden hasta causar daños irreparables a Ia médula espinal.
Estas bolsas de aire protectoras se mantienen plegadas sobre el casco mismo, cubiertas por una bolsa de algún material resistente a Ia intemperie, vistoso y fácil de romperse en el momento que las bolsas se inflen. La protección puede lograrse con solo una bolsa o con varias unidas entre si. Es conveniente que las bolsas de este tipo, después de un breve tiempo de infladas se desinflen solas.
La protección de estas bolsas inflables, además de Ia protección del cuello, cumplen Ia función de un casco gigante, sin tener su volumen ni su peso, que Io harían imposible de usar, tanto por el peso como por Ia resistencia que opondría al aire, al moverse a velocidad.
La bolsas de aire pueden fabricarse de distintos materiales, como las que ya se usan en Ia actualidad en automóviles o chumpas protectoras o cualesquiera otros que reúnan las cualidades necesarias.
Probablemente Ia visera y burbuja transparente que usan los cascos en el frente se puede rediseñar para que funcionen adecuadamente cuando hay bolsas de aire.

Claims

REIVINDICACIONES
1) La aplicación de estas bolsas de aire a un casco dan Ia oportunidad de proteger mucho más al usuario, evitando o reduciendo radicalmente Ia severidad de las lesiones que se pueden sufrir en un accidente.
2) No oponen resistencia al viento.
3) No tiene un peso incómodo.
4) Se puede construir para distintas resistencias.
5) Se puede construir de distintos materiales y tamaños.
6) Las bolsas pueden fabricarse para ser instalados en cascos existentes o bien pueden fabricarse cascos nuevos con las bolsas incorporados.
