Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur spanlosen Herstellung eines Außengewindes auf hohlförmigen, insbesondere für dünnwandige, Werkstücken aus Metall zur Verwendung als Hohlschrauben, Hohlwellen, Gewindehülsen oder Fittings als stabile Verbindungs- oder Befestigungselemente, sowie eine zur Durchführung des Verfahrens geeignete Vorrichtung. Innerhalb einer Mehrstufenpresse (20) mit einem verschiebbaren Schlitten (21) und einer stationären Werkzeugträgereinheit (22) wird in der Stufe VI der vorgefertigte hohlförmige Rohling (4b) in ein mehrteiliges Backenwerkzeug (1, 8) mit einem Formhohlraum, dessen Innenwandung mit einer als Negativ ausgebildeten Gewindeprofilierung versehen ist, eingelegt. Im geschlossenen Zustand des Backenwerkzeuges (1, 8) wird in die zentrale Öffnung des Rohlings (4b) mindestens ein Dorn (6) eingeführt und dabei der Rohling (4b) aufgeweitet, wobei die Konturen der Gewindeprofilierung durch einen radialen Materialfluss ausgefüllt werden, und abschließend das fertige Werkstück (4) entfernt wird.
