- a lighting device for a liquid crystal display device includes a direct type and a side light type.
- the direct type illumination device is a light source arranged directly under a liquid crystal display panel.
- a sidelight type illumination device is a device in which a light guide plate is disposed immediately below a liquid crystal display panel, and a light source is disposed so as to face a predetermined side end surface of the light guide plate (for example, Patent Document 1). reference).
- the side light type illumination device when light is emitted from the light source, the light is introduced into the light guide plate through a predetermined side end surface of the light guide plate. Then, the light introduced into the light guide plate becomes planar light to illuminate the liquid crystal display panel.
- FIG. 7 is a simplified view of an example of a conventional sidelight type illumination device.

Since the LED 101 comes off, there is a problem that even if the LED 101 has reached the end of its life, it is difficult to replace the LED 101.
- the light guide plate 103 is likely to be warped due to heat generation around the liquid crystal display device, and the display quality is deteriorated. Inconvenience occurs. Therefore, in such a case, the thickness of the light guide plate 103 is often increased in order to prevent the light guide plate 103 from warping.
