Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for containing and dispensing a fluid product, comprising a container with at least one product space bounded by at least one wall for receiving the product therein, which product space is covered on a dispensing side.
  • the invention herein relates particularly, although not exclusively, to such a device with a container which can be realized at relatively low cost and can be applied in a relatively flat carrier.
  • a device of the type stated in the preamble is for instance known from German patent application DE 19.744.213.
  • a container enclosing a product space is there formed from a flexible plastic foil.
  • the product space is filled with a relatively thin fluid, such as a cleaning agent, preservative or aromatic substance.
  • a relatively thin fluid such as a cleaning agent, preservative or aromatic substance.
  • the container is arranged between a pair of cotton wool pads which are mutually connected around the container.
  • the container is thus fully integrated in a cotton wool body.
  • the known device is for instance held between thumb and index finger and a sufficient pressure is exerted on the whole in order to cause the wall of the container to burst.
  • the fluid will thus penetrate the cotton wool body, which wholly or partially absorbs the fluid and with which the fluid can then be applied to a surface for treating.
  • a drawback of the known device is however that it is not very suitable for reuse. Once it has been opened, the container is completely emptied into the two cotton wool bodies, which will then dry in the air. Nor is it possible, at least not satisfactorily, to dose the dispensing of liquid to the cotton wool bodies.
  • the known device moreover requires a relatively low viscosity in respect of the liquid contained therein, while thicker products, such as creams, pastes of gels in particular, will not penetrate sufficiently into the cotton wool bodies or be absorbed thereby.
  • the present invention has for its object, among others, to provide a device with a container for a fluid product which is suitable for reuse and which enables a user to dispense the product in dosed manner and which is also suitable for thicker, more viscous fluids such as for instance creams, pastes and gels.
