Definitions

  • This invention relates to a rock drilling machine. More particularly it concerns a rock drilling machine for drilling of boreholes in rock where the rock drilling machine comprises a drilling portion and a string portion which by- means of joinable pipes are connected to a support device on the outside of the borehole.
  • support device is in this context meant an equipment positioned at the opening of the borehole and which is arranged to at least being able to displace a string portion in the borehole or to rotate the string portion about its central axis, or be provided with equipment for control and energy supply to the drilling portion and the string portion.
  • the axial displacement force must be able to overcome the force needed to displace the string portion and the drilling portion themselves in the borehole and in addition apply to the drilling portion drill bit sufficient axial force for cutting progress to take place.
  • a considerable share of the drilling portion and string portion weights are transmitted to the support device.
  • the object of the invention is to remedy or reduce at least one of the prior art drawbacks .
