Definitions
- the invention relates to an end cap for closing a hollow chamber of a profile strip of a window, a door and the like according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such end caps are used in the prior art to close the hollow chambers of moldings of a window, a door and the like.
- These moldings are used in window construction, for example, in multi-leaf windows between which a blind post, a Stulpprofil, a transom profile and the like. Arranged.
- the windows, doors and the like generally have a rectangular cross-section, wherein the window or door-forming profile strips are connected to each other at their free ends cohesively.
- the inserted between the window, door and the like profile strips such as blind posts, a Stulpprofil, a transom profile and the like. Are open at their free ends, so that in the hollow chambers of these moldings dirt or liquids can penetrate.
- end caps which have engaging in the hollow chambers of the profile strip holding elements and an axially adjacent to the profile strip outer circumference, so that the free ends of these moldings are sealed and visually appealing.
- This end cap is intended to eliminate visual defects when differently colored hollow profile bars are assembled to a window, a door and the like. _
- a disadvantage of this end cap is seen that, for example, by the tolerances between the two separate sections both the sealing effect and the tolerance compensation between the various a window, a door and the like forming profile strips is considerably more difficult.
- Another disadvantage of the end cap is seen in the fact that no tolerance compensation between the windows, doors and the like forming profile strips can be achieved by the multi-part especially in an end cap of a metallic but also a thermoplastic material and in particular in these materials a standard-compliant seal in particular Area of the outer sealing plane of the windows, doors and the like is not possible.
- an end cap for closing a hollow chamber of a profiled strip of a window, a door and the like, with retaining elements engaging in the hollow chamber, with an outer periphery at least partially axially adjacent to the profiled strip advantageously has at least one functional element which at least partially consists of one soft elastic material.
- This functional element is designed in such a way that the gap existing between the profiled strip, for example a cuff profile, for the frame or sash frame is sealed, and at the same time possible production-related tolerances can be compensated.
- the soft elastic material of the functional element is selected from the group of thermoplastics, the thermosets, the silicones, the elastomers, rubber and the like, which allows a cost-effective production of the end cap.
- the soft-elastic material of the functional element may advantageously be selected from the group of thermoplastic elastomers, thermoplastic copolyesters, styrene block copolymers, thermoplastic copolyamides, polyurethanes, plasticized polyvinyl chlorides and the like. - _
- the functional element is, for example, materially connected to the end cap, which reduces the manufacturing costs and simultaneously increases the geometric diversity of these end caps.
- the functional element is non-positively connected to the end cap, so that different color variants, for example, the end cap and the functional element can be combined. Furthermore, it is possible by this advantageous embodiment to replace already mounted end caps in windows or doors by the end cap according to the invention or to redevelop by the functional element.
- the functional element at least partially consists of a soft elastic material.
- those materials which have a maximum hardness of Shore A 96 can be advantageously used.
- the soft elastic material is selected from the group of foamed and / or foamable materials having a density of at most 0.5 g / cm 3 .
- Functional element has a wall thickness of about 0.2 to 5 mm, preferably 0.5 to 1, 5 mm.
- end caps can be produced, which solve the known problem of tightness and tolerance compensation, especially in profile strips that are designed as Stulpprofile and the like.
- the end cap according to the invention is characterized in that the functional element has at least one base and / or at least one sealing element and / or at least one tolerance compensation element.
- the sealing element can be materially and / or non-positively connected to the base and / or to the end cap, which leaves a wide variety of manufacturing possibilities open, without restricting the functionality of the end cap according to the invention.
- the tolerance compensation element is flexible relative to its longitudinal axis.
- the tolerance compensation element is able to absorb pressure forces occurring in the installed state in the window system, for example, by opening or closing a casement despite existing manufacturing tolerances, and thus seal the window system.
- the tolerance compensation element of the end cap according to the invention over its longitudinal axis due to the soft elastic materials flexibly compensate for the tolerance differences of the profile strips of a window system.
- the tolerance compensation element is further in cross-section approximately U-shaped, C-shaped,
- the geometry of the tolerance compensation element can thus be adjusted according to the geometry of the dummy post, the Stulpprofils, the rung profile and the like so that all production-related tolerances are sealing compensated.
- the material of the tolerance compensation element in cross section may have a cellular and / or honeycomb structure, in particular when using foamed and / or foamable materials.
- the tolerance compensation element has at least one recess, a hollow chamber and the like, which is designed so that in normal use of the end cap manufacturing tolerances tolerances of the frame or sash profiles are compensated sealingly without these sealing and tolerance-compensating effect over time due to mechanical stress or material changes leads to leaks in the windows, doors and the like.
- the end cap according to the invention is also advantageously designed so that it has at least one opening, by the known per se fasteners are inserted, the sealing the end cap and the design of the profile strip, for example, a Stulpprofiles adapted, this sealing, fastened.
- the position of the openings can be chosen so that the sealing tolerance-compensating function of the end cap and in particular of the functional element is additionally supported by a certain bias.
