- a backlight device is separately required as a lighting device.
- This backlight device is generally installed on the back side (the side opposite to the display surface) of a liquid crystal panel, and is made of metal and has a liquid crystal panel side surface opened, and is accommodated in the chassis.
- a large number of lamps for example, cold cathode tubes are provided.
- a chassis is generally composed of a flat bottom and an outer edge that rises around the bottom.
- the thinning of the chassis means that the height from the bottom of the chassis to the upper end of the outer edge is reduced. Since the outer edge of this chassis also has a function to ensure the strength of the entire chassis, if the height of the outer edge is reduced, the strength of the outer edge itself will decrease, and the power to suppress distortion of the chassis will be insufficient There is. If a portion of the chassis is distorted, the distance between each cold cathode tube accommodated in the chassis and the chassis will vary, and in some cases, the amount of light emitted from each cold cathode tube will vary. Display quality may be degraded. Thus, as means for improving the strength of the chassis, for example, one disclosed in Patent Document 1 is known. JP 2005-317356 A

Abstract
