Abstract

 プラズマディスプレイ装置は、データ電極を有する放電セルを複数配列したパネルと、データ電極を駆動するデータ電極駆動回路と、画像信号に信号処理を施してデータ電極駆動回路に供給する画像信号処理回路とを備え、画像信号処理回路は、パネルの画像領域の中央領域に表示する画像信号に対しては第1の信号処理を施し、画像領域の周辺領域に表示する画像信号に対しては第2の信号処理を施し、第1の信号処理に比べて第2の信号処理はデータ電極駆動回路の消費電力が小さい。
