 Bピクチャが含まれていないストリームに対しても、デコーダのデコード性能やコーデックタイプに依存することなく、設定された再生速度で高速再生を行う。動画像ストリームを構成するピクチャのデコードをスキップすることで高速再生を行う高速再生装置(100)であって、前記動画像ストリームの再生速度を設定する再生速度設定部(110)と、前記再生速度に応じて、スキップするピクチャの割合であるスキップ割合を決定するスキップ割合決定部(111)と、前記スキップ割合に応じてスキップするピクチャを指示するスキップ制御部(112)と、前記スキップ制御部(112)からの指示に従ってピクチャのデコードを行うビデオデコーダ(104)とを備える。
