Abstract

 光入射面から情報記録層までの距離が100μm未満となる光記録媒体に対して、対物レンズを介してレーザー光を照射し、PRML識別方式によって情報記録層の情報を再生する。この際、レーザー光の波長をλ、対物レンズの開口数をNA、記録時の光記録媒体の線速をLV、記録時のチャネルビット周波数をfとした場合に、PRML識別方式の拘束長nが、0.5×(λ/NA)/(LV/f)-1<n<0.5×(λ/NA)/(LV/f)+1を満たす整数に設定した。このようにすると、線記録密度を増大させながらも、再生信号品質を向上させることができる。
