Abstract

 波長λとなるレーザー光を、開口数NAの対物レンズを介して媒体に照射して記録再生する際の信号評価方法であって、媒体に記録されている理想信号と、レーザー光の照射によって得られる実信号の差異に関する情報を、理想信号の信号レベル毎に統計処理し、統計処理によって得られる統計値を用いて実信号の品質評価を行うようにした。これにより、PRML識別方式に依存することなく、信号品質を客観的に評価できるようにする。
