Abstract

 光透過性の基板に光散乱領域を形成した際に良好な発光特性を発揮する有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を提供する。発光層3における発光点と光反射性電極2との間の距離dが下記式で示される。 (1) λは、発光層3から放射される光のフォトルミネッセンススペクトルの分光放射束とCIE標準比視感度との積、あるいは分光放射束を各波長におけるフォトンエネルギーで除した商が極大となるときの波長 nは発光点と光反射性電極2の間の層の波長λでの屈折率 n1、k1は発光点と光反射性電極2の間で光反射性電極2に接する層の波長λでの屈折率と消衰係数 n2、k2は光反射性電極2の波長λでの屈折率と消衰係数 aは1.28<a≦-5.56×norg/nEML+7.74の関係を満たす数。 norgは発光点と光反射性電極2の間で発光層3に接する層の波長λでの屈折率 nETLは発光層3の波長λでの屈折率
