Abstract

【課題】低出力のインフレータを用いてもエアバッグ本体を十分に膨張展開できるエアバッグ装置を提供する。 【解決手段】全体が袋状に膨張展開可能なエアバッグ本体６と、このエアバッグ本体６を膨張展開させるための燃焼圧縮ガスを噴出するインフレータ５とを有するエアバッグ装置であって、エアバッグ本体６は、その膨張展開時に両側面部を形成する２つの側面展開用チャンバ２１と、エアバッグ本体６の膨張展開時に２つの側面展開用チャンバ２１の間を離間させるよう膨張展開する左右展開用チャンバ２２と、エアバッグ本体６の膨張展開時に２つの側面展開用チャンバ２１の間に形成される主拘束用チャンバ２３と、この主拘束用チャンバ２３に外気を流入させるための外気流入孔２４とを備え、インフレータ５は側面展開用チャンバ２１と離間用チャンバ２２に燃焼圧縮ガスを噴出する。
