　本発明のプラスチックガラス光ファイバは、ガラスコア（直径ａ１、比屈折率差Δ１、屈折率ｎ１）とポリマーコア（直径ａ２、比屈折率差Δ２、屈折率ｎ２）とポリマークラッド（屈折率ｎ３）とを備え、ガラスコアの直径ａ１が１１０μｍ～２００μｍ、パラメータＸ（Ｘはａ２ ２／ａ１ ２）が１．１５≦Ｘ≦２．９、パラメータＹ（ＹはΔ２／Δ１）が０．２５≦Ｙ≦０．８４Ｘ－０．６８（１．１５≦Ｘ≦２の時）又は０．４８Ｘ－０．７１≦Ｙ≦－（２／９）Ｘ＋１３／９（２≦Ｘ≦２．９の時）、パラメータＺＲ（ＺＲはＺ２ｃｏｒｅ／Ｚ１ｃｏｒｅ；Ｚ２ｃｏｒｅ＝ａ２ ２π／４×√（ｎ１ ２－ｎ３ ２）、Ｚ１ｃｏｒｅ＝ａ１ ２π／４×√（ｎ１ ２－ｎ２ ２））が１．２５≦ＺＲ≦４の範囲内にある。このプラスチックガラス光ファイバによれば、帯域が１段コアファイバと比較して同程度以上であり、耐曲げ性を改善しつつ大口径、高ＮＡを満たすことができる。
