Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Bremsen bzw. Arretieren einer Welle (6) eines Mikrotoms (1). Das Mikrotom (1) umfasst die Welle (6), ein Betätigungselement (2), einen Bewegungsmechanismus (37) und ein Gehäuse (38). Mit dem Bewegungsmechanismus (37) ist ein zu schneidendes Objekt relativ zu einer Messerklinge bewegbar. Das Betätigungselement (2) ist mit der Hand eines Bedieners betätigbar. Hierdurch ist die Welle (6) in Drehung versetzbar. Über die Welle (6) ist der Bewegungsmechanismus (37) zum Ausführen der Relativbewegung zwischen dem Objekt und der Messerklinge anteibbar. Des Weiteren betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Vorrichtung zum Bremsen einer Welle (6) eines Mikrotoms (1). Damit die Vorrichtung bei einem mechanisch ausgebildeten Bewegungsmechanismus (37) eingesetzt werden kann, ist die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung gekennzeichnet durch einen Aktuator und eine Bremseinrichtung (25). Die Bremseinrichtung (25) ist drehfest mit der Welle (6) verbunden. Mit dem Aktuator ist die Bremseinrichtung (25) automatisch in eine Bremsposition verbringbar, in welcher die Welle (6) drehfest mit dem Gehäuse (11) verbindbar ist.
