Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Spektrometer zur Untersuchung der optischen Emission einer Probe, mit einer Anregungsquelle, einem Eintrittsspalt und einem dispersiven Element, dass das Spektrum des in der Anregungsquelle erzeugten Lichts in einer Ebene auffächert, und mit Festkörper-Sensoren mit einer oder mehreren Zeilen, die zur Auswertung der spektralen Information im Bereich der Fokalkurve des Strahlengangs angeordnet sind, wobei die Sensoren oberhalb oder unterhalb der Ebene angeordnet sind und die spektrale Emission mit Spiegeln auf die Sensoren umgelenkt und fokussiert wird, wobei die reflektierende Oberfläche der Spiegel in einer Krümmungsrichtung asphärisch geformt ist.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Spektrometer zur Untersuchung der optischen Emission von angeregten Proben im Bereich der sichtbaren Wellenlängen und der angrenzenden Wellenlängenbereiche mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffs des Anspruchs 1.
Bei gattungsgemäßen Spektrometern wird ein Teil einer Probe durch Funken, Lichtbogen oder ICP Verdampft und in ein Plasma überführt. Die Emissionen des Plasmas enthalten Spektrallinien der darin vorkommenden Elemente, die mit optischen Spektrometern untersucht werden können. Das zu untersuchende Licht tritt über einen Eintrittspalt in ein Spektrometergehäuse ein, wird dort an einem dispersiven
Element gebeugt und spektral aufgeweitet. Die Spektrallinien entstehen als Abbildung des Eintrittspaltes auf einer sogenannten Fokalkurve . Auf dieser Fokalkurve werden Detektoren angeordnet, mit denen das Licht des
interessierenden Wellenlängenbereichs gesammelt und ausgewertet wird. Vielfach werden ortsauflösende Halbleiterdetektoren eingesetzt, die aus einer Zeile von Detektorelementen in CCD- oder CMOS-Bauweise bestehen. Diese Zeilen von Detektoren sind aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht unmittelbar auf der Fokalkurve angeordnet, sondern bezüglich der Ebene des Strahlengangs oberhalb oder unterhalb der Fokalkurve. Das Licht wird bei den bekannten Spektrometern dieser Bauweise mit Zylinderspiegeln aus der Ebene des Strahlengangs ausgelenkt und auf die Detektorzeilen unterhalb dieser Ebene fokussiert. Die Zylinderspiegel sind dabei in ihrer Längserstreckung gerade und ihrer Krümmungsrichtung sphärisch. Es handelt sich um Spiegel aus Glas, die eine Oberflächenverspiegelung aufweisen .
In der Praxis zeigt sich, dass derart aufgebaute Spektrometer zwar eine gute optische Leistung aufweisen, dass jedoch für schwache Emissionslinien die Lichtausbeute, also der Anteil des im Strahlengang befindlichen Lichts einer bestimmten Wellenlänge, der tatsächlich am Detektor ankommt, nicht optimal ist.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es deshalb, ein Spektrometer der eingangs angegebenen Bauart zu schaffen, bei dem die Lichtausbeute verbessert ist .
Diese Aufgabe wird von einem Spektrometer mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 gelöst .
Weil die fokussierenden Umlenkspiegel eine asphärische Oberfläche aufweisen, sind deren Abbildungseigenschaften besser an die geometrischen Verhältnisse in einem solchen Spektrometer angepasst. Dabei wird bevorzugt eine Oberfläche ausgewählt, die senkrecht zu der Ebene des Strahlengangs der mathematischen Form einer Parabel entspricht. Es kann auch vorgesehen sein, dass die Oberfläche von einem Abschnitt einer Ellipse gebildet wird.
Nachfolgend wird die vorliegende Erfindung anhand der Zeichnung beschrieben. Es zeigen:
Figur 1: einen schematischen Aufbau eines Spektrometers mit Zeilensensoren in einer Draufsicht auf die Ebene des Strahlengangs; sowie
Figur 2: einen Schnitt durch das schematisch dargestellte Spektrometer entlang der Linie II - II.
Die Figur 1 zeigt schematisch den Strahlengang eines Spektrometers mit Funkenanregung. Ein elektrischer Funke 1 wird zwischen einer Elektrode 2 und einer Probe 3 erzeugt. Der Funke bewirkt eine Emission im UV-Bereich und im Bereich des sichtbaren Lichts mit den charakteristischen Spektrallinien der in der Probe 3 enthaltenen chemischen Elemente. Das Licht wird durch einen Eintrittsspalt 6 in das Innere des Spektrometers geleitet und trifft dort auf ein Beugungsgitter 7, das das Licht spektral in einer Ebene auffächert und den Eintrittsspalt 6 auf Zeilen von Festkörpersensoren 8 abbildet. Vorzugsweise wird ein solches Spektrometer bei serienmäßigen Geräten für Labor- und industrielle Zwecke in der Paschen- Runge-Anordnung aufgebaut.
Der Strahlengang zwischen dem Beugungsgitter 7 und den Sensoren 8 ist in der Figur 2 näher dargestellt. Hier ist schematisch das konkave Beugungsgitter 7 in einem Querschnitt dargestellt, von dem aus eine Anzahl von Strahlen 10 parallel zu einander auf einen abbildenden Spiegel 11 verlaufen. Der abbildende Spiegel 11 weist eine den Strahlen 10 zugewandte Oberfläche 12 auf, die oberflächenverspiegelt ist und deren Krümmung asphärisch verläuft, nämlich in diesem Ausführungsbeispiel einem Parabelabschnitt entspricht. Die reflektierende Oberfläche 12 fokussiert die Lichtstrahlen 10 auf ein lichtempfindliches Element 13 der CCD-Sensorzeile 8. Die Lichtausbeute ist bei dieser geometrischen Anordnung gegenüber den bekannten Spektrometern, bei denen die Lichtstrahlen 10 durch Zylinderspiegel auf die CCD-Zeile 8
fokussiert werden sollen, erheblich verbessert.
Zusätzlich entsteht in dem Spektrometer durch die verbesserte Bündelung der Emission ein geringerer Anteil an Streulicht.
Bei einer anderen, nicht dargestellten Ausführungsform kann die Krümmung der asphärischen Oberfläche 12 des Spiegels 11 senkrecht zu der spektralen Ebene auch die Form eines Ellipsenabschnitts annehmen.
Der Spiegel 11 ist in Richtung senkrecht zur Zeichenebene der Figur 2 linear, was eine relativ einfache Fertigung des Spiegels 11 ermöglicht. Die Fertigung des Spiegels 11 und insbesondere die Abformung der Oberflächenform im Bereich der verspiegelten Oberfläche 12 erfolgt vorzugsweise in Glas in einem Abformverfahren, bei dem die Form einer Matrize abgenommen wird. Der dabei entstehende Glaspressling kann durch Zuschneiden, Bedampfen beispielsweise mit Aluminium und Montieren in einer Fassung zu einem Spiegel fertig bearbeitet werden, wie er für die vorliegende Erfindung benötigt wird.
Claims
1. Spektrometer zur Untersuchung der optischen Emission einer Probe, mit einer Anregungsquelle, einem Eintrittsspalt und einem dispersiven Element, das das Spektrum des in der Anregungsquelle erzeugten Lichts in einer Ebene auffächert, und mit optischen Festkörper- Sensoren, die zur Auswertung der spektralen Information im Bereich der Fokalkurve des Strahlengangs angeordnet sind, wobei die Sensoren oberhalb oder unterhalb der Ebene angeordnet sind und die spektrale Emission mit
Spiegeln auf die Sensoren umgelenkt und fokussiert wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die reflektierende Oberfläche der Spiegel in einer Krümmungsrichtung asphärisch geformt ist.
2. Spektrometer nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Oberfläche in einer Richtung einem Parabelabschnitt entspricht.
3. Spektrometer nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Krümmung in einer Richtung einem Ellipsenabschnitt entspricht.
4. Spektrometer nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die reflektierende Oberfläche senkrecht zu der Krümmungsrichtung linear ausgebildet ist.
5. Spektrometer nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Festkörpersensoren mit Detektorelementen in einer Zeile oder in mehreren Zeilen verwendet werden.
