Abstract

 画像表示を行う表示パネルと、この表示パネルの背面に設けられる配線基板20と、配線基板20に配列して設けられ表示パネルを照射する複数のLEDチップ21と、この配線基板20に設けられ複数のLEDチップ21の各々のLEDチップ21を覆う半球状のレンズ30とを備え、この複数のLEDチップ21を構成する各々のLEDチップ21の配列間隔をL1、レンズ30の半径をR1とすると、   R1 / 0.281 ≦ L1  なる関係を有する。それによって、光の利用効率を高め、混色度合いに優れた発光装置、この発光装置を用いた表示装置を提供する。
