Abstract

　画像表示を行う表示パネルと、この表示パネルの背面に設けられる配線基板２０と、配線基板２０に配列して設けられ表示パネルを照射する複数のＬＥＤチップ２１と、この配線基板２０に設けられ複数のＬＥＤチップ２１の各々のＬＥＤチップ２１を覆う半球状のレンズ３０とを備え、この複数のＬＥＤチップ２１を構成する各々のＬＥＤチップ２１の配列間隔をＬ１、レンズ３０の半径をＲ１とすると、 　　Ｒ１ / ０．２８１　≦　Ｌ１  なる関係を有する。それによって、光の利用効率を高め、混色度合いに優れた発光装置、この発光装置を用いた表示装置を提供する。
