  • Background of the invention As known, smokers often smoke cigarettes in places not provided with ash-trays or cigarette butt containers, for example in the street or in public parks. In this case, upon finishing the cigarette, smokers toss the butt on the ground, thus leading to the evident pollution and litter problems. Over the years, efforts to solve such problems have focussed on two distinct directions. A first direction concerns the pocket cigarette butt containers, while a second direction concerns lighters with built in cigarette butt container sections.
  • the object of the present invention is that of providing a lighter of small dimensions with a built-in cigarette butt storage section of a satisfactory capacity.

Furthermore, it is clear that the innovative concept can be applied on lighters which provide for other lighting methods and type of fuel.

Abstract

Cette invention concerne un briquet comprenant une partie en forme de boîte (17) définissant un compartiment de rangement (18) pour mégots de cigarette (M), fermé par un rabat basculant (20). Le briquet comprend un volet (22) disposé transversalement par rapport au compartiment (18) et orienté vers le rabat (20) quand il est fermé. La partie interne du rabat (20) forme une base de support pour le mégot (M) pendant son insertion dans le compartiment (18). Le volet (22) se déplace entre deux positions de fermeture et d'ouverture pendant l'étape d'insertion du mégot (M), par poussée du rabat (20). Le compartiment (18) est muni à l'intérieur de moyens (26) conçus pour compacter les mégots (M) vers le volet (22).
