Abstract

An antibacterial agent which is highly efficacious against a vancomycin-resistant bacterium and, therefore, useful in, for example, treating infection with a vancomycin-resistant bacterium. This antibacterial agent is an antibacterial agent against vancomycin-resistant gram-positive bacterium which contains cyanoacrylate polymer particles having an antibiotic enclosed therein as the active ingredient, wherein the above-described antibiotic alone does not show any antibacterial activity on the target vancomycin-resistant gram-positive bacterium as described above but exhibits an antibacterial activity in the state of being enclosed in the cyanoacrylate polymer particles.
