Abstract

情報記録媒体を一意に識別可能な媒体識別情報と情報記録媒体に記録されたデジタルコンテンツのコピー可能回数に関する情報を対応付けて管理するコピー回数管理サーバと通信ネットワークを介して相互に通信可能な情報記録装置は、挿入された情報記録媒体の媒体識別情報を取得し、コピー回数管理サーバから、取得した媒体識別情報に対応付けられたコピー可能回数に関する情報を取得するとともに、コピー処理の際にコピー先履歴情報を取得するので、このコピー可能回数に関する情報及びコピー先履歴情報を所定の記憶部に記録する。ユーザから情報記録媒体のコピー可能回数に関する情報の表示要求を受け付けたときは、所定の記憶部に記録されたコピー可能回数に関する情報及びコピー先履歴情報を媒体識別情報と対応付けて、所定の表示部に表示出力する。
