Abstract

 製作コストが低廉で、著しくシンプルな屈折率多層透明構造体の波長分波光学素子であって、WDM方式の近赤外線通信等に用いて多重波長光及び単独波長光を反射分波させる波長分波光学素子を提供することである。  本発明の波長分波光学素子は、屈折率の異なる透明樹脂層が複数積層され、最表面層にある透明樹脂層の表面に、所定の間隔になるように形成された多数の突起が透明樹脂層を形成する樹脂で透明樹脂トップ層と一体不可分に形成されてなり、該隣接する突起の形成周期幅(P)が、反射させようとする光の波長(Wvmax)に対して次式で表わされる関係を有することを特徴としている。   P=nK×Wvmax・・・・・・・(I)  ただし、上記式(I)において、反射しようとする光の波長であり、Wvmaxが200~2000nmの範囲内にあり、nは1または2であり、Kは0.5~0.75である。
