Abstract
導電性カーボン担体に粒子間隔を制御した平均粒径0.1nm~1.5nmの金属微粒子を生成する第一担持工程と、該金属微粒子を核に他の金属を成長させる第二担持工程と、第二担持工程終了後に水素を含む雰囲気で処理する工程とを含むことを特徴とする燃料電池用電極触媒の製造方法。本発明によれば、活性表面積当りのメタノール酸化活性が向上した燃料電池用電極触媒を得ることができ、この場合、特に上記第二担持工程後の水素を含む雰囲気での処理を100°C未満の低温で行うことにより、質量当りのメタノール酸化活性を向上させることができる。
