Abstract

 プラズマディスプレイ装置は、画像信号を画像データに変換する画像信号変換回路(40)と、前記画像データに基づいてデータ電極を駆動するデータ電極駆動回路(52)と、前記画像データに基づいて前記データ電極駆動回路(52)の消費電力を算出する電力算出回路(62)と、前記画像データに基づいて前記データ電極駆動回路(52)の温度を算出する温度算出回路(61)とを備え、前記画像信号変換回路(40)は、少なくとも前記電力算出回路(62)により算出された電力算出値(PE)が所定の電力閾値を超えた場合、又は前記温度算出回路(61)により算出された温度算出値(TE)が所定の温度閾値を超えた場合、前記画像信号を前記データ電極駆動回路(52)の消費電力を減少させる画像データに変換する。
