Definitions
- the present invention relates to a mill for extracting sugar cane juice from a product web.
- a preliminary step is taken, during which sugar cane is prepared using materials such as knives, preparers, or shredder devices known as "shredder".
- a shredder consists of a mobile rotor comprising a set of 100 to 200 hammers of 20 to 30 kg rotating at speeds ranging from 900 to 1100 revolutions / min, to open the cane cells containing the juice sweetened to allow extraction of the juice by mills.
- the products thus prepared feed a pressing system generally composed of a battery 4 to 7 mills in series. Each mill extracts a portion of the juice. This allows the battery to extract up to about 98% of the sugar in the cane.
- Known mills generally comprise at least three pressing rollers rotating in opposite directions, in particular constituted by chevron rolls. These also include grooves for better evacuation of juice. Between these pressure zones, it is known to guide the pressed cane using a bagassiere blade keeping compacted cane to extract the best juice cane. However, at the level of said bagger blade, there is a loss of energy by friction of the cane. It is also observed at the end of the last pressure of each mill reabsorption of juice on the cane which undergoes rapid decompaction. This is detrimental to the performance of the pressing and requires the use of several pressing rolls successively.
- Document FR-2 706 808 is known, or else document FR-2,709,700, a device for improving the efficiency of roller presses for extracting liquids, and especially cane juice.
- This device comprises a channel downstream of the pressing rollers, called chute, and a dam creating a constriction in the chute. Mills equipped with such a device to extract up to 70% of the juice in the first press.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a mill for the extraction of cane juice including an improved device limiting reabsorption of cane juice after pressing, superior performance to known systems.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a mill of higher yield, to extract at least 75% of the juice in the first press.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a mill whose energy consumption is lower than the mill of the prior art.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a mill composed solely of two pressing rolls.
- the present invention relates to a mill for extracting sugar cane juice from a product web, said mill comprising at least two pressing rollers rotating in opposite directions to drive and press the product web at a zone for compressing and discharging the juices, and a downstream outlet zone of said product sheet, at least one of the two rollers possibly having peripheral annular grooves intended for the flow of the extracted juices.
- the mill of the invention furthermore has means for limiting the reabsorption of cane juice after pressing, said means having, in the downstream outlet zone of the product web, on the one hand, an anti-expansion channel located downstream of the pressing zone, and inside from which the sheet of pressed products is directed, constrained by the rotating rollers, and secondly means for adjusting the section of the channel, for compacting said sheet in the channel, at least locally.
- said anti-expansion channel has at least one section of length on which the channel is diverging, called the expansion zone, followed by said means for adjusting the section of the channel to make the channel converge on a corresponding zone, so-called counterpressure.
- the anti-expansion channel may have three successive length sections, namely:
- FIG. 1 is a side view of a mill according to the invention according to an embodiment
- FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 are partial views of the mechanism for pressing and limiting the reabsorption as illustrated in FIG. 1, according to two positions of the means for adjusting the section of the channel;
- FIG. 4 is a partial sectional view of an exemplary embodiment of the pressing rollers, according to the invention, which comprise triangular chevrons and annular grooves for evacuating the juices,
- FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 are respectively side and front views of a comb element for cleaning the rafters illustrated in FIG. 4;
- FIG. 7 is a partial block diagram of a compliant mill. according to a second embodiment,
- FIG. 8 is a partial block diagram of a mill according to the invention, according to a third embodiment,
- FIG. 9 is a partial block diagram of a mill according to the invention, according to a fourth embodiment
- FIG. 10 is a graph illustrating, for example, the evolution of the pressures of the products at the level of the three successive zones of the mill channel, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 to 9, namely: the first length section on which the channel is convergent (zone 20), the said expansion zone (zone 30) and the counter zone; pressure (zone 40).
- the invention relates to a mill for extracting sugar cane juice from a product web.
- the mill 1 comprises at least two press rollers 2 rotating in opposite directions to drive and press the product web at a zone 3 for compression and evacuation of the juices, and a downstream zone 4 for exiting the the tablecloth of products.
- the invention will find an advantageous application in mills equipped with two pressing rollers only, without this being however limiting. It is also possible, for example, to consider said invention with conventional mills of three to six rolls.
- the mill also has means for limiting the reabsorption of cane juice after pressing.
- At least one of the rollers 2 may have peripheral annular grooves 5 provided for the flow of extracted juices.
- the two pressing rollers 2 become entangled in one another, especially at chevrons 5 2 .
- the grooves 5i are then provided in over depth chevrons 5-
- the mill may have at least one comb element 6 for cleaning the rafters 5 2 and a device for cleaning the grooves 5- ⁇ . This comb element 6 makes it possible to remove the compressed products in the rafters. As illustrated in Figure 5, in one example, these rafters have a triangular profile.
- the means 7 for limiting the reabsorption of the juices furthermore present, in the exit zone 4 of the product web, on the one hand, an anti-expansion channel 8 situated downstream of the pressing zone 3, and on the other hand, inside which the web of pressed products is directed, in particular pushed and constrained by the rotating rollers, and secondly, means 9 for adjusting the section of the channel 8, for compacting said sheet in the channel, at least locally.
- anti-expansion channel is meant a chute for channeling the products, preventing them from completely relaxing and being delivered to themselves without constraint.
- the anti-expansion channel 8 has at least one section of length on which the channel is divergent, called the expansion zone, followed by said means 9 for adjusting the section of the channel 8 to make the channel converge on a channel. section of corresponding length, called counterpressure zone.
- said adjustment means 9 are constituted by at least one pivoting cam 10 whose product guiding wall is tilting.
- the invention was born from the observation that it is possible to dry the product sheet again, after a first pressure, by releasing the pressure in a controlled manner and exerting a new pressure on the sheet, in particular likewise intensity.
- the divergent expansion zone allows a partial relaxation of the products before they are again compressed in the back pressure zone.
- the mill as illustrated in the example of Figures 1 to 4, and allows to successively subject the products a first compression between the rollers 2, at the area 3 of pressing, an expansion of the products through the section of length on which the channel is diverging, then a new compression of the products in the backpressure zone.
- the anti-expansion channel 8 may be divergent, at least over a first length section.
- the lower and upper walls of the channel 8 may form an angle " ⁇ " with respect to the mean direction 13 of the channel, of between 2 and 10 °, at least on said first section of divergent length.
- the angle " ⁇ " may especially be equal to 5 °.
- the means 9 for adjusting the section of the channel 8 are constituted by a pivoting cam 10, the inclination of which allows the section of the channel to be adjusted locally and transversely.
- the cam 10 may in particular have a product guide wall 15.
- the cam angle, referenced ⁇ in FIG. 3, namely the angle of the guide wall 15 with respect to the mean direction 13 of the channel 8, can be determined to make the channel converge, at least on a second section. length.
- the lower and upper walls of the channel form an angle " ⁇ " with respect to the mean direction 13 of the 5 ° channel, over a first portion of section of divergent length.
- the cam angle namely the angle " ⁇ " formed between the guide wall 15 of the products and the mean direction 13 of the channel 8 can be of the order of -15 ° on a second section of length.
- the cam angle can be set manually, by an operator, or automatically. So, advantageously, the mill may furthermore present a force sensor or a torque sensor targeting the forces induced by the compacted sheet in the channel on said cam 10.
- the mill may then have means for controlling the inclination of the cam, throughout the pressing process, as a function of the measurement signals of the sensor and a given set value, in particular a force value or else of a torque value.
- the mill may furthermore comprise means 11 for adjusting the inclination of the cam, in particular consisting of a cylinder 12, hydraulic or electrical.
- the average direction of the anti-expansion channel may be oblique, downward.
- the average direction 13 may be an angle relative to the horizontal between 10 and 30 ° in particular equal to 20 °.
- the mill comprises two pressing rollers 2 and said two pressing rollers 2 may be provided with peripheral annular grooves 5i and chevrons 5 2 , the mill having for each roll a comb element 6.
- the mill may then have three rollers in a triangular conformation, in particular guided by bearings 16. Two of the rollers are the pressing rollers 2, the third being a roll 14 of feed and guiding the product web.
- the lower and upper walls of the channel may be formed at least in part by two blocks 18, 19, closed laterally by flanges.
- the lower block 18 may be of parallelepipedal section and have a support surface with bores, in particular for adjusting and fixing the comb elements 6, in particular by screwing.
- the upper block 19 may be of smaller size than the lower block 18. It may have a rear wall sized to cooperate in rotation with the pivoting cam 10.
- the rear wall may have in particular a radius of curvature substantially similar to the radius of curvature of a semi-circular generatrix of the pivoting cam 10.
- the upper block may have on a front wall, a surface for fixing a comb element 6, in particular provided with bores for fastening by screwing.
- the anti-expansion channel 8 may have three successive length sections, namely:
- FIG. 10 illustrates the internal pressure of the products (in bar) on the y-axis as a function of the position of the products along the length of the channel. Three curves are plotted, each corresponding to a particular inclination of the pivoting cam 10 on the mill and to the geometries of FIGS. 7 to 9. It is thus observed, during the progression and the advance of the products in the channel 8, that the internal pressure increases in the zone marked 20, decreases in the expansion zone 30 and increases again significantly in the backpressure zone 40.
- the products thus undergo three compressions, namely: a first compression between the pressing rolls 2, followed by an expansion of the products in the downstream outlet zone 4 of the web, a second compression in the convergent zone marked 20 of the channel 8 followed by a second expansion in the expansion zone 30 of the channel 8, and finally a third compression in the backpressure zone 40 under the action of the channel section adjustment means, and in particular of the pivoting cam 10.
- An optimal extraction of the juices from the product web is thus obtained.
- the juice is evacuated at the inlet 25 of the channel upstream of the zone 20 and at the outlet 35 of the expansion zone 30, upstream of the backpressure zone 40, as simulated by the arrows on Figures 7 to 9.
- Said outlet 35 is in the form of an orifice formed by an opening created between the end of the channel 30 and the beginning of the channel section adjustment means, such as the pivoting cam 10.
- the channel may be provided with orifices 21 for the evacuation of the extracted juices, these orifices may be, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 to 9, distributed particularly over the expansion zone 30 of the channel.
- the mill may have two pivoting cams 10, able to "pinch" the sheet of products on the backpressure zone 40.
- FIGS. 7 to 9 are not exhaustive. Also and although it is not illustrated, the mills of Figures 7 to 9 may be equipped with comb elements for cleaning the rafters of the press rollers 2 and a device for cleaning the annular grooves.
