Abstract

 第1透明基材厚を有する第1の情報記録媒体(50)又は第2透明基材厚を有する第2の情報記録媒体(60)に青紫色のレーザ光をアクセスさせる光ピックアップにおいて、前記青紫色レーザ光を第1の光路又は第2の光路に切り替える光路切り替え部(3,4)を、光源(1a、1b)とカップリングレンズ(5,6)との間、又はカップリングレンズと対物レンズとの間に配置する。さらに、前記カップリングレンズは、前記第1の情報記録媒体又は前記第2の情報記録媒体で反射した反射レーザ光を収束光に変換する。前記収束光は、受光素子(13)へ導かれる。
