Abstract

The present invention relates to an oven (1) wherein the problems of storing the unused accessories are eliminated for the user by reducing the number of accessories and also a reduction in costs is maintained. The oven (1) comprises a cooking chamber (2) constituted by a base, a rear wall, a ceiling (8) and two side walls (7), a heater (3), a tray (4) and at least two supporters (5), each having a frame (11) and more than one rod (12) fastened on this frame (11). In a first position the supporters (5) are placed oppositely on the side walls (7) perpendicular to the base to provide a support for the tray (4) to be placed at a desired height in the cooking chamber (2). In a second position at least one of the supporters (5) is placed parallel to the ceiling (8) and used as a grill.

Description

OVEN COMPRISING A PIVOTABLE FRAME USED AS TRAY SUPPORT OR GRILL

[0001] The present invention relates to an oven wherein grilling can be performed.

[0002] The ovens comprise accessories such as trays, grills etc. that are used during the cooking process depending on the kind of food to be cooked and the requirements of the cooking process that will be employed. The user utilizes some of these accessories during the cooking process but storing and stacking of the unused accessories in the kitchen poses an important problem.

[0003] In state of the art German Patent Application No DE9044854, an oven is provided comprising grills that do not have to be folded and taken out when not in use.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to design an oven wherein the number of accessories included is reduced without decreasing the functions thereof.

[0005] The oven designed to fulfill the objective of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a supporter that can be used for supporting the trays when positioned upright by mounting to the side walls, and can be used as a grill when positioned horizontally.

[0006] The supporter is produced of a frame and wire rods fastened on this frame similar to a wire grill. The wire rods are bent from both sides forming a U shape and the wire rods are fastened from their ends to the frame. Thus, the surface formed by the wire rods is on a different plane than the frame and channels are formed in between the wire rods. When the supporter is mounted to the side wall of the oven, the side of the tray is inserted into these channels between the consecutive rods.

[0007] In an embodiment of the present invention, the supporter is secured inside the cooking chamber with a retainer. In this embodiment, the supporter is mounted into the cooking chamber easily and practically by using various housings and extensions on the cooking chamber and the supporter.

[0008] In another embodiment of the present invention, when the two supporters disposed on the two side walls are changed to the second position at the same time, an uninterrupted grill is formed that extends between the side walls.

[0019] The oven (1) of the present invention comprises a cooking chamber (2), a heater (3) disposed in the cooking chamber (2) and a tray (4) placed into the cooking chamber (2) wherein food to be cooked is emplaced. [0020] The cooking chamber (2) is constituted by a base, a rear wall, a ceiling (8) and two side walls (7). The heater (3) is arranged parallel to the ceiling (8). [0021] The oven (1) comprises at least two supporters (5) attached on the two opposite side walls (7) that are used for supporting the tray (4).

[0022] The supporter (5) is produced of wire. The supporter (5) comprises a frame (11) and more than one rod (12) fastened on this frame (11) to be virtually parallel to each other.

[0023] In the oven (1) of the present invention, the supporters (5) can be used in two different positions:

• In the first position, the supporters (5) are attached oppositely on the side walls (7) to be virtually perpendicular to the base. In this position, the rods (12) extend in the horizontal direction being approximately parallel to the base. When placing a tray (4) into the oven (1), the sides of the tray (4) are seated on the rods (12) of the two opposite supporters (5) that are on the same level. In this position, the rods (12) are used as support and the gap between the rods (12) as the channel to which the sides of the tray (4) are seated, providing the tray (4) to stay at the desired height in the cooking chamber (2).

• In the second position at least one supporter (5) is disposed virtually parallel to the ceiling (8). In this position, the rods (12) form a surface parallel to the ceiling (8). The food to be grilled is placed on the rods (12) and the supporter (5) is used as a grill.

[0024] In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises a retainer (6) for attaching the supporter (5) in the cooking chamber (2). In this embodiment, the oven (1) furthermore comprises at least one retainer slot (10 and 100) wherein the retainer (6) is fitted, at least one extension (13) disposed on the supporter (5), at least one extension socket (9) situated on the side wall (7) wherein the extension (13) is placed and at least one housing (14) disposed on the supporter (5) whereon the retainer (6) is seated.

[0025] In this embodiment, the supporter (5) is attached to the retainer (6) disposed in the retainer slot (10) situated on the side wall (7) when in the first position, and to the retainer (6) disposed in the retainer slot (100) on the ceiling (8) when in the second position.

[0026] The extensions (13) are on one side of the supporter (5) and the housing (14) is on the side opposite to where the extensions (13) are disposed.

[0027] While the supporter (5) is changed to the first position, the extensions (13) are placed in the extension sockets (9) and the retainer (6) in the retainer slot (10) is seated in the housing (14). In this position, the side including the extensions (13) is disposed higher up and the side including the housing (14) is lower down and the supporter (5) is secured from both sides to the side walls (7). While the supporter (5) is changed to the second position, the extensions (13) stay in the extension sockets (9), the supporter (5) is turned and the retainer (6) in the retainer slot (100) on the ceiling (8) is seated into the housing (14).

[0028] In this embodiment, furthermore the retainer (6) comprises a body (15) placed in the retainer slots (10 and 100) and a head (16) seated in the housing (14).

[0029] In an embodiment of the present invention, when both of the two supporters (5) are used in the second position, a grill is formed in the cooking chamber (2) that extends from one side wall (7) to the other (7). In order to provide this, the total length of the two supporters (5) is approximately equal to the width of the cooking chamber (2). Moreover, the housings (14) are shaped as a semi-circular recess. Thus, when the supporters (5) are in the first position and attached by two separate retainers (6), a single retainer (6) is used when in the second position. Since the housings (14) are shaped as semi-circles, when they are aligned side by side, a circle is formed.

[0030] In this position, the head (16) of the retainer (6) is seated in the circle formed by the two housings (14) and both of the supporters (5) can be fixed at the same time.

[0031] In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises extension sockets (9) at different heights which are used at the first and second positions of the supporter (5). Thus when the supporters (5) are used as a grill, the distance to the heater (3) can be changed. By means of using the supporter (5) at two different positions for two different purposes, the requirement of emplacing an additional wire grill in the oven (1) is eliminated. The problems of storing the unused accessories are eliminated for the user by reducing the number of accessories and also a reduction in costs is maintained.

Claims

[0001] An oven (1) comprising a cooking chamber (2) constituted by a base, a rear wall, a ceiling (8) and two side walls (7), a heater (3) disposed in the cooking chamber (2) and a tray (4) placed into the cooking chamber (2) wherein food to be cooked is emplaced, and characterized by at least two supporters (5) - having a frame (11) and more than one rod (12) fastened on this frame (11) that are virtually parallel to each other, - in the first position, disposed oppositely on the side walls (7) to be virtually perpendicular to the base, providing the sides of the tray (4) to be secured therebetween at the desired height in the cooking chamber (2) and - in the second position, used as a grill by disposing at least one to be virtually parallel to the ceiling (8).
