Description

DESCRIPTION
DERMATOLOGICAL COMPOSITIONS
Technical Field:
This invention is related to the usage of yoghurt as a vehicle or an active ingredient in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and cosmeceutical products due to its emollient, cicatrising and moisturizing effects.
Background of Invention:
It is known that yoghurt plays a big role on human's nutrition by its substantial amount of lactose, protein, fat, vitamin, calcium and phosphor. Also, it is known that many minerals, proteins, enzymes, fats and other beneficial bacteria's in Yoghurt have a big impact on skin. Yoghurt brightens and moisturizes the skin whereas it also has various ways to use it in cosmetics.
The European Patent EP 0315541 discloses the use of yoghurt and kefir for cosmetic purposes. The cosmetic composition in powder form contains from 50 to 85% by weight of lyophilised yoghurt or kefir capable of being revivified, and at least one acidity acceptor for acid.
The Italian Patent IT 1265930 discloses a cosmetic composition comprising yoghurt proteins and birch extract in appropriate quantities having a nutrient, elasticising and sebo-balancing effect on the scalp and a restructuring effect on hair. Preferably the yoghurt proteins and the birch extract are contained in the composition in a ratio of approximately 1 :3.
The Patent WO 2005087190 discloses a cosmetic composition that can provide skin moisturizing and softening effects improved by further containing vegetable and fruits extracts or milk, vitamins or yoghurt powder. In addition, it may contain xanthan gum and mannan to give the appearance and texture of curd yoghurt.
In the composition which is the subject matter of the invention yoghurt is used as a vehicle or an active substance due to emollient effect of its components such as lactic acid, essential oil acids, enzymes, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Lactic acid is also used as a moisturizer on dry skin. Furthermore, the compositions contain together with yoghurt also olive oil and almond oil that support skin barrier properties via supplying essential oil acids and squalen to the skin, and also dexpanthenol that has cicatrising effect.
Aim of Invention:
The aim of this invention is the use of yoghurt in the compositions of the medical dermatological, cosmetic, cosmeceutical creams, lotions and ointments to benefit from its emollient, cicatrising and moisturizing effect.
Description of Invention:
The subject matter of the invention, compositions regarding cosmetic, cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical use of yoghurt are formed benefiting from its emollient effect due to its components such as lactic acid, essential oil acids, enzymes, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Especially yoghurt is used in the compositions as a moisturizer due to the moisturizing effect of its component lactic acid on dry skin. Yoghurt is used as a vehicle or an active substance at a concentration of 1 to 99 % in the compositions in the form of cream, ointment, lotion, emulsion, foam, solution, emulsiogel, gel or aerosol foam.
Furthermore, the compositions contain together with yoghurt also olive oil and almond oil that support skin barrier properties via supplying essential oil acids and squalen to the skin, and also dexpanthenol that has cicatrising effect.
Within the scope of the compositions 1 to 50 % olive oil, 1 to 50 % almond oil and 0.01 to 10 % dexpanthenol are used.
In the compositions, yoghurt can be used as in its natural form or used after drying processes like spraying, lyophilizing.
Yoghurt, having cicatrising property, is used in the medical dermatological, cosmetic and cosmeceutical skin products for the treatment of wounds, burns, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis due to its nutritive effect. Yoghurt is used for regulating skin flora, removing dryness and nutritive and supporting skin barrier properties via in a vehicle or alone. The various compositions comprising yoghurt, almond oil, olive oil and dexpanthenol are obtained. These compositions comprise:
-the oil which is selected from vegetable, organic or inorganic oils other than the olive oil and almond oil; -organic emulgators which comprise lecithin, tween 80, tweens, spans, sorbitan esters and analogouses or inorganic emulgators which comprise sodium laurilsulfate and analogouses;
-vehicle products such as cetostearyl alcohol, glycerine monostearate, polyoxyl-
40-stearate, solid paraffin, cetil alcohol, tegesoft DO, fatty acid esters, vaseline and analogouses;
-antioxidants which comprise butylhydroxyanisol (BHA), butylhydroxytoluol
(BHT), citric acid, ascorbic acid, hyaluronic acid vitamin E; ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and analogouses,
-preservatives which comprise benzoic acid, sorbic acid, arlagard, benzyl alcohol and their analogouses.
