Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verflüssigen von Wasserstoff. Zum Verringern des spezifischen Energieverbrauchs werden folgende Verfahrensschritte eingesetzt: a) Vorkühlen des Wasserstoff Stromes (1) durch indirekten Wärmetausch (El) gegen einen unter Druck stehenden LNG-Strom (A) bis auf eine Temperatur zwischen 140 und 130 K, b) Abkühlen des vorgekühlten Wasserstoff Stromes (2) durch indirekten Wärmetausch (E2) gegen ein Kältemittel (20) bis auf eine Temperatur zwischen 85 und 75 K, c) wobei die Vorkühlung (B3) des Kältemittels gegen einen unter Druck stehenden LNG-Strom (B) erfolgt, und d) weiteres Abkühlen und zumindest Teilverflüssigen des vor- und abgekühlten Wasserstoff Stromes durch indirekten Wärmetausch (E4, E7) gegen einen weiteren Wasserstoff ström (11), der in einem geschlossenen Kältekreislauf geführt wird, e) wobei die Vorkühlung (E6) des verdichteten, im geschlossenen Kältekreislauf geführten Wasserstoffstromes gegen einen unter Druck stehenden LNG-Strom (C) erfolgt.
