The CT scan shows the needles in the area of the suspected lung tumor. Once it is confirmed that the biopsy needle has hit the tumor precisely, the radiologist passes the needles through the lesion in order to obtain tissue samples of the tumor. The tissue samples are caught in the biopsy needle and are then sucked out by a syringe attached to the other end of the biopsy needle device.
