  • the process of Figures 5-7 may take place on a carousel 60 that has many arbours 62 such that the different steps take place in a continuous process at different positions on the carousel 60 as the arbours 62 travel around the carousel 60.
  • the blank may be folded on the support in the reverse orientation to that described above, i.e. working on the top end of the assembly and not the bottom.
  • working on the bottom end of the assembly has the benefit that removal of the pack assembly from the support, when the support is an arbour, is facilitated by applying pressure to the filter rod end of the smoking articles within the pack assembly (which as noted above helps to avoid damage to the smoking articles).
  • the assembly process described above using a hollow arbour 62 is summarised in the flow-type diagram of Figure 8. It will be appreciated that the process could be conducted on a solid arbour. In this case, the product is inserted after the pack is removed from the arbour, but before closing the open end.

Abstract

L'invention concerne une ébauche (10) susceptible d'être utilisée pour former un bloc prismatique (20) de section transversale triangulaire. L'ébauche comprend une partie généralement rectangulaire divisible en trois panneaux de corps (11+15, 12+16, 13+17) servant à former les côtés de ladite section transversale triangulaire. Un panneau triangulaire de dessus (21) est joint au bord de dessus d'un des panneaux de corps et un panneau triangulaire de dessous (25) est joint au bord de dessous d'un des panneaux de corps. Les panneaux triangulaires de dessus et de dessous (21, 25) correspondent à la section transversale triangulaire du bloc. Des premier et deuxième rabats de dessus (121, 22) sont joints au bord de dessus de panneaux de corps respectifs, autres que le panneau de corps auquel est joint le panneau triangulaire de dessus. Chacun des premier et deuxième rabats (121, 22) s'étend sensiblement sur toute la largeur de son panneau de corps respectif. Le premier rabat de dessus (121) est de dimension et de forme sensiblement similaires à celles du panneau triangulaire de dessus (21). Des premier et deuxième rabats de dessous (125, 26) sont joints au bord de dessous de panneaux de corps respectifs, autres que le panneau de corps auquel est joint le panneau triangulaire de dessous.
