  • a gem or the like When a gem or the like is to be mounted, it is placed in the mounting space, in this case in an opening, so that it rests against the notches 27 in the prick punches. Then, the tip of each prick puncher is bent over the gem in order to lock it in place. This is shown in Fig. 2, with a gem 25 being mounted in its intended mounting space 22.
