  • the size of a pallet is often standardized, so that a certain number of pallets can fit into a container with a standardized inner length and width.
  • a certain flexibility with regard to the dimensions of the pallet may, however, be required when the pallet for example is used for boxes or loads with a standardized size or fractions thereof. If a number of such boxes or loads are to be stacked on the pallet for transport or storage, certain handling problems may occur.
  • An improved pallet with a certain dimension flexibility and with improved handling characteristics may according to the invention be obtained by the provision of edge ledges, which are substantially L-shaped in cross section and are slidably attached to the pallet perpendicularly to the borders of the pallet.

  • Each edge ledge 2 or 3 has an L-shaped cross-section. Its vertical portion may as shown be provided with weight- reducing and material-saving openings, whereas its horisontal portion may be provided with weight-reducing and material-saving slots as well as larger notches for the feet 5.
  • each edge ledge 2, 3 is provided with a number of attachment bars 6, preferably integrally formed with its ledge. In the shown case the number of attachment bars 6 for each ledge is four, but this number can vary within the scope of the invention.
  • the pallet 1 In its upper surface the pallet 1 is provided with longitudinal grooves 7 (see especially Fig 2) for receiving the attachment bars 6. These grooves 7 extend perpendicularly to each border of the pallet 1. Locking tongues 8 to be further described with reference to Fig 4 extend substantially transversely in over the grooves 7.

Its comparatively small bottom surfaces for engagement with the bottoms of the grooves 7 are flat, and its side surfaces are slanted for guiding by correspondingly shaped guide surfaces of the locking tongues 8. The preferred slant angle is 45°.
  • the locking tongues 8 are preferably arranged in opposed pairs, as shown, and the preferred number of locking tongue pairs at each guiding groove 7 is two. By its cross-sectional shape and engagement with the locking tongues 8, the attachment bar 6 will extend slightly above the flat surface of the pallet 1. When loaded by a box or similar load on the pallet 1 and the attachment bar 6, the latter will be slightly flattened out and be locked into firmer engagement with the locking tongues 8 and the guide grooves 7.
  • the upper side of the attachment bars 6 may as shown be provided with friction- increasing ribs or the like for improving the above action and provide better engagement between a load and the attachment bars 6.

L’invention concerne une palette porte-charge (1) comprenant une plateforme (4) et un certain nombre de pieds (5) ou de moyens similaires pour porter la palette au-dessus du sol.
