2 媒が潤滑油を含む場合には、機械室内のモータの潤滑や冷却が可能となり、圧縮機 の耐久性や信頼性が向上する。
[0011] 更にまた、好ましくは、圧縮機は、機械室に一体的に配設されてモータを駆動し、 返戻通路を介して冷却される駆動回路を備えている。このように、圧縮機は駆動回路 を内蔵し、この駆動回路がガスクーラ力 の圧縮冷媒ガスで冷却されることから、駆動 回路を内蔵した圧縮機の耐久性や信頼性が向上する。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0013] 以下、図面により本発明の実施形態について説明する。図 1は、車両用空調装置 を構成する冷凍システム 2の概略を示し、このシステム 2は車室 4内を所望の設定温 度にて冷房する。システム 2は、自然系冷媒である CO冷媒 (以下、単に冷媒と称す)

を循環させる冷凍回路 6を有し、この回路 6はエンジン 10を備えたエンジンルーム 8 力 車室 4に亘つて設置されて!、る。
[0014] 詳しくは、回路 6は上記冷媒の循環経路 11〜16を有し、これら経路 11〜16はその 大部分がエンジンルーム 8内に配置されている力 その一部が車室 4内にも延びてい る。経路 11〜16には、上流側から本実施形態の圧縮機 18、ガスクーラ 24、膨張弁 2 6、蒸発器 28及びアキュムレータ 30が順次介挿されている。そして、これら圧縮機 18 、ガスクーラ 24、膨張弁 26及びアキュムレータ 30はエンジンルーム 8内に配置され、 蒸発器 28は車室 4内に配置されている。なお、図中、参照符号 11, 12, 13, 14は 上記経路の往路部分を形成し、参照符号 15, 16は上記経路の復路部分を形成して いる。
[0015] この圧縮機 18はエンジン 10の駆動力によって作動され、ガス状態の冷媒を吸い込 んで圧縮し、高温高圧ガス状態の冷媒を経路 11に吐出する。つまり、圧縮機 18は冷 媒を圧縮しながら冷媒の流動を生成させる。そして、ガスクーラ 24は図示しない送風 ファン及び車両前方からの風を受けて、その内部を流れる冷媒を空冷する。更に、ガ スクーラ 24からの高圧状態の冷媒は膨張弁 26を通じて蒸発器 28に供給され、この 冷媒は蒸発器 28内にて低温低圧のガス状態となる。また、このガス状態の冷媒はァ キュムレータ 30で一時的に貯留される。このアキュムレータ 30の下流側は経路 16を 介して圧縮機 18に接続されており、低温低圧ガス状態の冷媒が圧縮機 18に吸入さ れる。
[0016] ここで、本実施形態の圧縮機 18は内部熱交^^の機能をも兼ね備えている。具体 的には、図 2に示されるように、圧縮機 18は圧縮ユニット 20と内部熱交換ユニット 21 とから構成され、この熱交換ユニット 21は圧縮ユニット 20に一体的に配設されている 。また、本実施形態の圧縮ユニット 20には駆動プーリ 19が配設されており、このブー リ 19にはエンジン 10の動力が図示しない駆動ベルトを介して伝達されている。
[0017] そして、熱交換ユニット 21には、ガスクーラ 24の下流側の経路 12及び膨張弁 26の 上流側の経路 13がそれぞれ接続され、ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒が経路 12, 13を介 して膨張弁 26に供給されている。一方、この熱交換ユニット 21にはアキュムレータ 30 の下流側の経路 16が接続されており、上記ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒と当該アキュム レータ 30からの冷媒との熱交換が行われる。つまり、ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒はアキ ュムレータ 30からの冷媒によって更に冷却され、この冷媒は経路 13を介して膨張弁 26に供給される。なお、このアキュムレータ 30からの冷媒は熱交換ユニット 21から圧 縮ユニット 20に吸入、圧縮され、経路 11を介してガスクーラ 24に向けて吐出される。
[0018] また、当該圧縮機 18の熱交換ユニット 21には、ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒の一部を 圧縮ユニット 20内に導入させる返戻通路 17 (図 2に点線で示す)が備えられている。 この通路 17は、その一端側が経路 12から分岐されて圧縮ユニット 20内に達し、その 他端側が経路 13に接続され、圧縮ユニット 20内から経路 13に戻されている。なお、 この通路 17は、その一端側が経路 13から分岐されて圧縮ユニット 20内に達する一 方、その他端側を経路 12に接続して戻すことも可能である。
[0019] 上述したシステム 2によれば、圧縮機 18の作動に伴ってアキュムレータ 30からの冷 媒が圧縮されると、この圧縮機 18の断熱圧縮作用により、比ェンタルピ及び圧力が それぞれ増加し、経路 11を介して高温高圧ガス状態の冷媒がガスクーラ 24に供給さ れる。この冷媒はガスクーラ 24の冷却作用によって圧力を一定に維持しながら比ェ ンタルビが減少し、経路 12を介して圧縮機 18の熱交換ユニット 21に供給される。
[0020] 当該熱交換ユニット 21に供給された冷媒は、アキュムレータ 30からの冷媒で更に 冷却され、比ェンタルビが更に減少して経路 13に向けて送出される。この後、高圧ガ ス状態の冷媒が膨張弁 26の絞り作用による膨張を受け、その比ェンタルピを一定に 維持しながら圧力が減少し、経路 14を介して蒸発器 28内に噴出される。次いで、冷 媒の気化熱により蒸発器 28の周囲の空気が冷却され、冷気が車室 4内に送り込まれ て車室 4内の冷房が行われる。
[0021] なお、蒸発器 28から経路 15を介してアキュムレータ 30に供給された冷媒は、経路 16を介して圧縮機 18の熱交換ユニット 21に戻り、この後、圧縮機 18の圧縮ユニット 20により再度圧縮され、経路 11〜16を上述した如く循環する。
[0022] ここで、ガスクーラ 24から熱交換ユニット 21に供給された冷媒の一部は通路 17を 介して圧縮ユニット 20内に達した後、膨張弁 26に向けて改めて送出される。これによ り、当該冷媒が潤滑油を含む場合には、この潤滑油が圧縮ユニット 20内の摺動面や 軸受の潤滑、摺動面のシールとして機能する。更に、当該圧縮機 18が可変容量型 の場合には、ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒が圧縮ユニット 20内にて容量調整用の制御ガ ス源となり、容量調整や潤滑冷却が可能となる。
[0023] ところで、本発明の圧縮機は、上述の如くエンジン 10で駆動される他、電動モータ で駆動されても良い。詳しくは、図 3に示される圧縮機は電動圧縮機 18Aである。こ の圧縮機 18Aは、圧縮ユニット 20、図示しない電動モータ (モータ)を備えたモータ 室 (機械室) 22及び内部熱交換ユニット 21から構成されている。そして、これら熱交 換ユニット 21及びモータ室 22は圧縮ユニット 20に一体的に配設され、圧縮ユニット 2 0は電動モータによって駆動される。
[0024] この熱交換ユニット 21においても、ガスクーラ 24からの経路 12及び膨張弁 26への 経路 13がそれぞれ接続され、更に、アキュムレータ 30からの経路 16も接続されてお り、ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒とアキュムレータ 30からの冷媒との熱交換が行われてい る。更に、熱交換ユニット 21には、ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒の一部を圧縮ユニット 20 内に導入させる返戻通路 17A (図 3に点線で示す)が備えられており、この通路 17A の冷媒は、経路 12からモータ室 22内に導入され、このモータ室 22を経由して圧縮 ユニット 20内に達して力も経路 13に戻されている。
[0025] 次に、図 4に示された電動圧縮機 18B, 18Cは、いずれも圧縮ユニット 20、内部熱 交換ユニット 21、モータ室 (機械室) 22及びインバータを備えた駆動回路 23から構 成されており、これら熱交換ユニット 21及びモータ室 22が圧縮ユニット 20に一体的 に配設され、且つ、駆動回路 23がモータ室 22に一体的に配設されている。
[0026] これら圧縮ユニット 20、熱交換ユニット 21、モータ室 22及び駆動回路 23の配置に ついては、この駆動回路 23が図示しない返戻通路を介して冷却される限り、圧縮機 18B (図 4A)の如ぐ駆動回路 23が熱交換ユニット 21とモータ室 22との間に配設さ れる他、熱交換ユニット 21が駆動回路 23とモータ室 22との間に配設されていても良 い。更に、圧縮機 18C (図 4B)の如ぐ熱交換ユニット 21が圧縮ユニット 20、モータ 室 22及び駆動回路 23の一端側に配設される他、駆動回路 23が圧縮ユニット 20、モ ータ室 22及び熱交換ユニット 21の一端側に配設されていても良い。
[0027] 以上のように、本発明は、 CO冷媒の圧縮機と、従来では冷凍回路中の一機器で

あった内部熱交^^と一体化させることを主眼とするものである。そして、 CO
2冷媒を 使用する冷凍回路 6に介挿された圧縮機 18 (18A, 18B, 18C)が、圧縮ユニット 20 の他、内部熱交換ユニット 21を備えており、このユニット 21では、ガスクーラ 24で冷 却された高圧の冷媒ガスとアキュムレータ 30からの低圧の冷媒ガスとの間で熱交換 を行われ、高圧の冷媒ガスは更に冷却され、低圧の冷媒ガスは加熱される。従って、 この冷凍回路 6に要する配管路が上記内部熱交^^に必要とされる分だけ従来に 比して削減されるし、従来の如く上記内部熱交^^に要する独立した設置スペース も削減される。この結果、冷凍回路 6の部品点数が減少して製造コストの低廉ィ匕が達 成される。更に、この配管路が削減されて冷凍回路 6全体の省冷媒化も達成可能と なる。また、車両用空調装置に自然系冷媒である CO冷媒を用いれば、環境負荷の

低減に大きく貢献する。
[0028] また、熱交換ユニット 21は、圧縮ユニット 20内の摺動面や軸受の潤滑、摺動面のシ ールとして機能させるベぐ或いは、容量調整用の制御ガス源として機能させるベぐ ガスクーラ 24からの冷媒を圧縮ユニット 20内に導入させる返戻通路 17 ( 17A)を備 えている。よって、例えば CO冷媒が潤滑油を含む場合には、圧縮ユニット 20内の

摺動面や軸受の潤滑、摺動面のシールが可能となり、圧縮機 18 (18A, 18B, 18C) の耐久性の向上に寄与する。また、例えば圧縮ユニット 20において容量調整用の制 御ガス源にも利用されると、上記潤滑等の他、可変容量型圧縮機の吐出容量の調整 も可能となる。更に、仮に圧縮機の作動停止時であっても、 CO冷媒はこの圧縮機 1

8 (18A, 18B, 18C)内に留まり、ガスクーラ 24や膨張弁 26の近傍には停留し難くな つて冷凍回路 6の信頼性が向上する。また、ガスクーラ 24で冷却された圧縮冷媒ガス が返戻通路 17Aを介してモータ室 22内に導入されると、例えば CO冷媒が潤滑油

を含む場合には、電動モータの潤滑や冷却が可能となり、電動圧縮機 18A(18B, 1
8C)の耐久性や信頼性が向上する。
[0029] 更に、電動圧縮機 18B (18C)は駆動回路 23を内蔵し、この駆動回路 23が返戻通 路を介してガスクーラ 24からの圧縮冷媒ガスで冷却されることから、例えばハイブリツ ド型車両に適用された電動圧縮機の耐久性や信頼性が向上する。
[0030] 以上で本発明の一実施形態についての説明を終える力 本発明は上記実施形態 に限定されるものではなぐ本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の変更ができるも のである。

該圧縮ユニットに一体的に配設され、前記ガスクーラからの冷媒と前記蒸発器から の冷媒との熱交換を行う内部熱交換ユニットとを具備する。

前記内部熱交換ユニットは、前記ガスクーラからの冷媒を前記圧縮ユニット内に導 入させる返戻通路を備えて 、る。

前記圧縮機は、前記機械室に一体的に配設されて前記モータを駆動し、前記返戻 通路を介して冷却される駆動回路を備えている。
