Definitions
- the invention is based on a power tool and an overload protection device according to the preambles of the independent claims.
- Electric machine tools are usually equipped with a built-in electronics protection mechanism according to the prior art. As soon as a certain power level is exceeded when working with the power tool, the machine is automatically switched off via its overload function ("torque function"), which is a pre-selection of a desired torque by means of electronic elements.
- torque function a pre-selection of a desired torque by means of electronic elements.
- torque limiting provides immediate, almost reverse turn-off of the device, which is generally active in some power tools, but has the disadvantage that maximum power is not available on such power tools because it automatically shuts off before reaching maximum power.
- the overload protection function can be manually switched on and off, for example via a switch or via a setting wheel, this function being active in all gears, but this has the disadvantage that when operating in second gear (and active overload protection function), the operator can overheat the engine without first switching to first gear (in which overheating may not occur).
- the speed reduction is carried out by the electronics, which reduces the speed automatically with increased torque in Maxi times load operation. Since it does not shut off automatically, the customer is not forced to switch to first gear.
- a power tool according to the invention with a multi-speed gearshift for setting demand-dependent power levels of a drive overload protection function with the gears is coupled, at least one gear is provided, in which the overload protection function is forcibly deactivated.
- An overload protection device according to the invention provides at least one gear with a forcibly deactivated shutdown in case of overload.
- the operator may conveniently choose which power to use for which operation.
- a gear shift lever preferably a rotary switch is provided, the operator can select as usual, for example, a first gear with a higher gear ratio when the power tool is likely to be heavily stressed, for example, due to high contact pressures and torques. At less heavy load he can choose a second gear with a lower gear ratio.
- the electronics are switched so that the power tool automatically shuts off at a certain power to avoid damage, in particular of the electric motor and the transmission. If an even greater power is required, a third stage can be set. In this position, according to the invention, the first gear with the lowest power level is mechanically preset, the overload protection function being switched off via the electronics.
- a maximum possible power of the power tool can thus be called up. With this coupling can be prevented that the operator can work in second gear and the engine heats up too quickly.
- the single figure shows a detailed view of an embodiment of a power tool 11 according to the invention, in which a rotary switch 10 is shown.
- the rotary switch 10 is a multiple gears 1, 2 comprehensive gear for adjusting demand-adjustable power levels of a drive adjustable.
- the rotary switch 10 can be as usual a mechanical gear shift, with the gear 1 and the gear 2 can be selected between a higher and a lower translation.
- the electronics in the gears 1 and 2 is connected so that the power tool 11 automatically shuts off at a certain power.
- the overload protection function is thus active in gears 1 and 2.
- a gear 3 is adjustable by means of the rotary switch 10, wherein the gear 1 with the lowest power level is mechanically preset, but the overload protection function is forcibly deactivated.
- the overload protection function is forcibly deactivated.
