- C carbon imparts a desired hardness to the hardened layer 8 after quenching formed on the rolling element rolling surface la or imparts a predetermined mechanical strength to the entire track rail. It is an essential ingredient for.
- the C content is less than 0.35%, the hardness of the hardened layer 8 and the mechanical strength of the entire track rail may be lowered.
- the C content is more preferably 0.5% or more from the viewpoint of imparting the hardness and mechanical strength of the cured layer 8. On the other hand, if the C content exceeds 0.7%, machinability and cold workability may be deteriorated.
- Si (caine) is added as a deoxidizer and acts to increase hardness and strength. If the Si content exceeds 0.35%, machinability and cold workability may be deteriorated. Note that Si is an unavoidable force, and its lower limit is about 0.15%.

- the lower limit value of O is not particularly limited, but is about 0.0003-0.0004%.
- the quenching process is a process of quenching only the minimum necessary part that becomes the rolling element rolling surface la of the high carbon steel material after plastic working.
- Quenching is performed by locally heating only the minimum necessary part by bringing an induction heating coil (not shown) for induction hardening close to the part that becomes the rolling element rolling surface la.
- the induction heating coil has a coil loop, and a high frequency current from a high frequency power source is supplied to the coil loop.
- the rolling contact surface la of the track rail 1 causes the induction high-frequency current to flow by bringing the induction heating coil supplied with the high-frequency current close to it with a certain clearance. Heated.
- the rolling element rolling surface la rises to a predetermined temperature relatively easily by the induction high-frequency current flowing. As a guide for the temperature rise, 900 ⁇ : 1050 ° C is set as the target.
- the reason why the temperature is raised to 900 to 1050 ° C is to obtain uniform austenite and a uniform martensite structure after quenching. If the temperature is less than 900 ° C, ferrite may remain, and if the temperature exceeds 1050 ° C, the crystal grains may become coarse and annealed. Since the rolling element rolling surface la is usually concave, the coil shape and the like are adjusted so that the rolling element rolling surface la can be heated uniformly.
- the rolling element rolling surface la heated substantially uniformly by the induction heating coil is cooled and quenched.
- cooling means using shower water is usually applied, and the rolling element rolling surface la is rapidly cooled to about 50 to 150 ° C.
- the reason for setting the cooling temperature to 50 to 150 ° C is to prevent the occurrence of incompletely quenched structures such as fine pearlite. If the cooling temperature is less than 50 ° C, quenching cracks may occur. If the cooling temperature exceeds 150 ° C, an incompletely quenched composition may be generated.
- Such quenching can be performed by moving the track rail 1 in the longitudinal direction where the induction heating coil and the cooling means are installed.
- the hardened layer 8 having a substantially uniform depth and a predetermined hardness can be formed in a very short time in only the minimum necessary portion of the track rail 1 that becomes the rolling element rolling surface la.
- the quenching depth is measured according to JIS-G-0559 for calculating the quenching area, and is calculated by measuring the effective quenching depth from the surface of the track rail 1.
- the effective quenching depth is determined from the result of measuring the hardness of the rail cross section, and specifically, the depth at which the Vickers hardness of the rail rail cross section is 500 Hv or more. This effective quenching depth can be easily confirmed by etching the track rail cross section with aqueous nitric acid solution.
- the hardness of the rolling element rolling surface la can be approximately 770 to 830 Hv.
- the hardness of the obtained rolling element rolling surface la is approximately 30 to 50 Hv higher in each part compared with the track rail manufactured by the conventional manufacturing method that does not omit the tempering process. The value is shown. Since the composition of the track rail 1 is within the above range, even when the tempering process is omitted, a predetermined hardness is ensured on the rolling element rolling surface la without causing a significant decrease in toughness. can do. Such an improvement in hardness can improve the rolling life of the rolling element rolling surface la.
- the post-processing step is a step of post-processing without tempering the high carbon steel material after quenching.
- Examples of post-processing include various processing steps required for the member. For example, it can be used to cut to a specified length, drill mounting holes, and grind rolling element rolling surfaces.
- the track rail after quenching can be subjected to a post-process without passing through a tempering step of heating the track rail in a batch manner for a long time. .
- Cutting to a predetermined length does not necessarily have to be performed as post-processing, but it is advantageous to perform it in post-processing from the viewpoint of production efficiency. Cutting is performed by cutting a long, hardened track rail with a cutting machine in order to make the track rail a product size. In addition, the cutting process to a predetermined length may be performed after the drawing process, which is not performed in the post process, and before quenching.
- the mounting hole 7 is a bolt hole for fixing the track rail 1 to other bases, devices, etc., and is always provided on a generally used track rail. Is.
- the mounting holes 7 are usually provided at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction of the track rail 1.
- the position where the mounting hole 7 is provided is a part where the rolling element rolling surface la is not formed, and more specifically, a part that is not quenched or is not sufficiently quenched.
- the mounting hole 7 is usually drilled with a drilling machine or a machining center.
- the track rail 1 manufactured by the above-described method of the present invention has an effect that the amount of bending after the mounting hole 7 is drilled is smaller than that of a conventional track rail that does not omit tempering. Such a decrease in the amount of bending has the effect of facilitating or omitting the generally performed correction process.
- Such drilling is not normally performed on the spline shaft 21 shown in FIG. 4 or the screw shaft 31 shown in FIG.
- the grinding process is a step of grinding a groove portion having a concave shape of the rolling element rolling surface la, grinding a portion where the rolling element rolling surface la is not formed, and the like.
- These grindings are processes for finishing the track rail 1 to a desired dimension, and are performed on almost all track rails. Such grinding is also performed on the spline shaft 21 shown in FIG. 4 and the screw shaft 31 shown in FIG. 5 in the same manner as the track rail.
- the straightening process is a process of adjusting the track rail 1 to a desired shape, and is performed as a post-processing of a general track rail.
- a straight track rail is corrected to have a desired straight line shape
- a curved track rail is corrected to have a desired curve shape.
- the straightening process can be omitted as necessary.
- Such a straightening process is performed on the spline shaft 21 shown in FIG. 4 and the screw shaft 31 shown in FIG. 5 in the same manner as in the case of the track rail.
- shot peening for the purpose of removing an oxide film or the like may be performed as necessary.
- the track rail 1 manufactured by the manufacturing method according to the present invention described above is made of a high carbon steel material having a plurality of rolling element rolling surfaces la in which only a necessary minimum part is quenched.
- the moving body rolling surface la substantially does not contain the structure produced by tempering.
- a linear guide device 10 which is an embodiment of the rolling motion device of the present invention is characterized by including a track rail 1 having such features.
- high carbon steel materials by weight, C: 0.35 to 0.7%, Si: 0.35% or less, Mn: l to 1.7%, P: 0.03% or less, S: 0.03% or less, Ni: 0.3% or less, Cr: 0.5% or less, O: 0.002% or less, and Fe: balance
- Preferred examples of the steel material to be contained include Mo: 0.15-0.3%.
- the structure generated by tempering includes, for example, a structure of fine carbide or the like. Orbital Rail 1 does not have or has substantially no such structure because the tempering process is omitted. Note that “substantially free” means that it is significantly less than when the tempering step is not omitted. [0059] Since the track rail 1 is not tempered, the hardened rolling element rolling surface la is increased in surface hardness and rolling life is improved.
- the track rail 1 is not tempered and the portion where the improvement in toughness cannot be expected is only near the rolling element rolling surface, the mechanical properties (including strength and toughness) of the track rail as a whole are The part other than the vicinity of the rolling element rolling surface that occupies most of the track rail 1 is responsible, and as a result, the mechanical characteristics of the entire track rail are maintained.
- the ratio (AZZ) of the sectional area A of the hardened hardened layer 8 to the total sectional area Z of the track rail 1 is , Approximately 0.:! To 0.2 (10% to 20%).
- a track rail 1 having a cross-sectional area ratio (A / Z) within this range can exhibit the above-described effects.
- the track rail 1 of the present invention can omit the tempering step, heating of the entire track rail for tempering can be omitted. For this reason, the amount of shrinkage in the longitudinal direction based on heat shrinkage is reduced. Therefore, since the amount of shrinkage that causes dimensional variation can be kept small, there is an advantage that it is not necessary to perform processing in consideration of shrinkage due to tempering in advance.
- the rolling motion device of the present invention can be used for a ball spline, a ball screw and the like in addition to the linear motion guide device as described above.
- the linear motion guide device (linear motion guide) shown in FIG. 1 has this track via a track rail 1 in which a rolling element rolling surface 1a is formed in the longitudinal direction and a large number of balls as the rolling element 2.

Next, precision finishing grinding of the rolling element rolling surface and precision finishing grinding of other parts were performed using a milling machine. Next, a final straightening process was performed using a 50-ton press straightening machine. Thus, the track rail of Example 1 was manufactured.
- Example 1 the track rail of Comparative Example 1 was manufactured by the same method as Example 1 except that tempering was performed after quenching. Tempering was performed by placing the quenched rail into a heat treatment furnace and heat-treating at about 140 ° C for 3 hours in an air atmosphere. In addition, it stood to cool after heat processing.
- the track rail after only quenching had a bend of 0.05 to 0.06 mm per 1000 mm, whereas the track rail after quenching and tempering had a bend of about 1000 mm. 0.2 mm. Therefore, it was confirmed that the track rail of Example 1 was improved in comparison with the track rail of Comparative Example 1 at least in comparison with the conventional quality with a small amount of bending.
- ⁇ Hardness> The hardness of the rolling element rolling surface of the track rail of Example 1 and the track rail of Comparative Example 1 was measured. The hardness was evaluated by the Vickers hardness Hv, and compared with the measurement result when the indenter was pushed in with a load of 2.94 mm (300 g). As a result, the Vickers hardness of the track rail of Example 1 is compared with the Vickers hardness of the track rail of Comparative Example 1 in the entire depth direction of the hardened layer of about 1.5 mm that is quenched. In each part, a uniform high value of about 30 to 50 Hv was shown.
- the picker hardness of the track rail of Example 1 is in the range of 800 Hv to 710 Hv at each measurement point from the surface to a depth of about 1.5 mm, and the Vickers hardness of the track rail of Comparative Example 1
- the height was within the range of 750 Hv to 660 Hv at the same measurement points as described above from the surface to a depth of about 1.5 mm.
- the track rail of Example 1 always showed a higher value by about 30 to 50 Hv at each measurement point. Therefore, it was confirmed that the track rail of Example 1 had higher hardness than the track rail of Comparative Example 1, and at least improved from the conventional quality.
- Rolling resistance value> For the track rail of Example 1 and the track rail of Comparative Example 1, the rolling resistance value of the rolling element rolling surface was evaluated. Rolling resistance values are based on actual usage. It is an evaluation item to be performed, and is a value obtained from a measurement method called rolling force resistance measurement of the change in dimensional accuracy of the track rail before and after heating. The heating temperature was three points of 50 ° C, 80 ° C and 100 ° C. As a result, the rolling resistance value of the track rail of Example 1 and the rolling force resistance value of the track rail of Comparative Example 1 were both about 4 to 5.5 N, and there was no significant difference between the two. From this fact, it was confirmed that the track rail of Example 1 had the same rolling resistance as that of the track rail of Comparative Example 1, and at least the conventional quality could be maintained.
- ⁇ Load durability test> A load durability test was performed on the track rail of Example 1 and the track rail of Comparative Example 1.
- the load endurance test was conducted by sliding the rolling element rolling surface of the track rail and the rolling element included in the slide member.
- the test conditions were: test load: 0.5 times the basic load rating, quantity: 10 sets, maximum speed: 60 mZ min, lubricant: AFB grease, lubricant supply interval: every 100 km.
- the cumulative distance until pitting (surface peeling) occurred on the rolling element rolling surface was measured.
- the life L10 was evaluated by the cumulative distance when the cumulative failure rate of the rolling element rolling surface was 10%.
- the track rail of Example 1 had a life L10 of 913 km, and the track rail of Comparative Example 1 had a life L10 of 646 km. Therefore, it was confirmed that the track rail of Example 1 had a longer L10 life than the track rail of Comparative Example 1, and at least improved from the conventional quality.
- ⁇ Residual stress> With respect to the track rail of Example 1 and the track rail of Comparative Example 1, the residual stress in the longitudinal direction was measured. Residual stress was measured by X-ray diffraction. as a result, The track rail of Example 1 has a residual compressive stress of about 300 400 N / mm 2 whereas the track rail of Comparative Example 1 has a compressive residual stress of about 200 300 N / mm 2. I understood. Since it is said that when the residual compressive stress is high, the wear resistance and fatigue strength are excellent, the results show that the track rail of Example 1 is superior in quality to the track rail of Comparative Example 1. It can be said that.
- a manufacturing method of a rolling exercise device that can manufacture a member having a plurality of quenched rolling element rolling surfaces by a method with good quality and productivity, a cost-competitive rolling exercise device can be provided. Can be manufactured. Further, the mechanical characteristics of the entire member having the rolling element rolling surface can be maintained, and a rolling exercise device having a long life can be provided.
