Definitions

  • the invention relates to one of the loadable washing machine with a rotatable laundry drum, the drum jacket is provided with flood holes for exchanging the washing liquor between the interior of the laundry drum and the interior of a tub surrounding it and the deepest surface line in the operating position of the washing machine from a horizontal deviates from increasing, with hollow, elongated drivers, which are designed so that they absorb liquid quantities from their lowest position and lift them when the drum is rotated, and discharge them from a raised position into the interior of the drum.
  • Tron rnel washing machines in which the drivers are inclined and run inside the laundry drum jacket substantially along a helix. The slanting of the drivers takes place in all cases with the aim of influencing the movement of the laundry or the entry of mechanical energy into the laundry.
  • Such drum washing machines are known for example from DE-PS 537 758, DE-PS 576523, FR 1 136 981 and DE 44 12 718 AI.
  • Drum washing machines are also known in which, with the inclination of the drivers, an axial transport of the laundry within the drum becomes easier as it rotates. In the drum washing machine known from DE-GM 88 04 246, the removal of the Laundry supports.
  • a washing machine according to the preamble of claim 1 is known (DE 19925 917 AI), in which the drivers scoop water in the deepest area of the tub to raise it when the washing drum rotates and from a raised position through openings in the to wash the laundry underneath. In doing so, they convey the soaked liquor to the front, where the scooped amount of liquid can no longer hit small items of laundry, which experience has shown that they can be transported to the rear area (away from the loading opening) when the lower surface line is inclined. As a result, the wetting process of small items of laundry is delayed and ineffective because the amounts of liquid dispensed run through the flooding holes in the drum jacket before they can reach the laundry.
  • the invention has for its object to improve the wettability in particular of small laundry items in a washing machine described above.
  • this object is achieved in that the drum shell in its front area, which measures about a quarter to about a third of the total depth of the drum, has a total area of flood holes reduced by at least 50% compared to the rear area.
  • the result of this measure is that rain is now raised by the carriers and then transported away from the transported liquid quantities over the area which is not very perforated and then flows onto the inside surface of the laundry. This shortens the wetting process compared to the prior art and leads small items of laundry to more effective wetting. This also intensifies the exchange of lye for the entire washing process.
  • the measure according to the invention further reduces the so-called radial pump effect of the rotating laundry drum, in which from the arranged loading opening, air is sucked out of the tub and pushed back into the tub through uncovered flood holes. This effect leads to the fact that leached-off lye is carried away from the cuff area of the loading opening and the laundry is undesirably rewetted.
  • the flood holes in the front area are the same size as in the rear area, but reduced in number, or in the front area compared to those in the rear area have a smaller clear width, the wetting is also already significantly accelerated. At higher suds levels in the suds container, e.g. B. when washing the laundry, but the, if few, flood holes in the front area can still be helpful.
  • the hole-free front area is provided with groove-like embossments.
  • the embossments should be placed in a direction that supports the draining of water that has been thrown off. This will be the case in particular if, according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the groove-like embossments aim at hole spacings in the rear area and end in front of the rear area.

  • the axis of rotation 6 of the laundry drum 5 rises towards the front loading opening 7 of the tub 4 at an angle of, for example, 15 °. This makes the loading opening easy to use User panned.
  • the laundry drum is mounted in a hub 8 on the rear bottom 9 of the tub 4 with a stable pin 10 in the usual manner. It is cylindrical; therefore, the lower surface line 1 of the laundry drum 5 rises by the same angle as its axis of rotation 6 to the front.
  • three drivers 12 are attached evenly distributed. On the one hand, they serve in the usual way to lift laundry during the rotation of the laundry drum 5, which is mechanically processed by falling back into the drum base from a greater or lesser height after being lifted and thereby releasing dirt particles together with the lye wetting them.
  • these drivers 12 also serve for scooping liquid which, during the washing process, is a part, namely the free liquor 13, of the entire liquid located in the tub in the lower rear part of the tub 4. From this free fleet, portions are removed from each driver 12 via liquid inlets 14 whenever the driver in question is at the lowest point of its circular path.
  • the drivers 12 are installed at an angle to the direction of rotation of the laundry drum 12, contrary to the otherwise normal, rectangular installation position. They are also curved convexly in the direction of drum rotation. Therefore, the scooped liquid inside the drivers 12 is lifted up during the rotation of the drum and transported to the same extent as the driver's curvature tilts over during the rotation.
  • the drivers 12 have a number of openings 16 in the front area, particularly on their convexly curved flanks 15, for dispensing the scooped amounts of liquid.
  • the drivers In the concave flank 17, the drivers have no or only a very few such openings, and these only from and very close to the ridge edge 18. It is thus possible to pour the largest proportion of the scooped amounts of liquid over the laundry parts lying down. At the same time, however, due to the inclined position of the axis of rotation 6, considerable portions of the scooped amounts of liquid are also passed onto the laundry items located further back in the drum 5.
  • Fig. 1 it is not shown that the jacket of the washing drum 5 is perforated by means of flood holes in such a way that a constant lye exchange can take place between the interior of the rotating washing drum and the free liquor 13.
  • the aim is always to have as much lye per unit of time the laundry is flooded.
  • flooding holes are also arranged in the drum jacket in the front area in accordance with a washing machine described at the outset, then too much of the liquor which has been rained down by the scoops over the laundry is immediately passed to these flooding holes without their wetting and there released again from the drum.
  • This effect is most pronounced, of course, the less laundry there is in the drum; because if the foremost flood holes are exposed due to a small amount of laundry, the rainy amount of water escapes for the most part through these flood holes without having touched the laundry at all.
  • the washing drum of a washing machine designed according to the invention has no or only a reduced number or size of flood holes in the front area, so that a drained amount of alkali, which has not yet been absorbed by the laundry, remains sufficiently long on the bottom of the front Area of the laundry drum remains until it has been absorbed by the laundry overlying it.
  • no flood holes are provided in the front area 19 of the drum casing 20, unlike in the rear area 21, in which flood holes 22 are arranged in the usual way.
  • This surface is completely water-impermeable, so that the alkali impinging on it from the longest can remain available for wetting for the longest.
  • the total area of all the flood holes arranged in the front area is reduced compared to the rest of the area. According to FIG. 3, this can be represented by a reduction in the number of otherwise equally large flood holes 23 or, according to FIG. 4, by an equally large number of flood holes 24 with a reduced cross section. Any type of mixed forms, in which flood holes with several different diameters or cross sections can also be used, are also conceivable under the same inventive concept.
  • groove-shaped depressions 25 are arranged in this front area 19, which are formed on the surface with the usual flood holes 22. equipped area 21 are directed towards.
  • the grooves can be spiraled in one or the other or in both directions. For immediate drainage of water collected in this way, it is helpful if the grooves in area 21 of the usual flood holes meet the foremost flood holes.
