- a single audio-visual data system may be used to transmit audio-visual data to different types of mobile data processing devices simultaneously.
- the audio data may be received by more than one wireless audio headset, enabling more than one person to listen to the audio signal whilst watching the video data displayed on the display screen of one mobile telephone.
- the described embodiments provide various advantages, including enabling a user to watch live television broadcast programs of unlimited duration, or prerecorded television programs or films of much greater duration than can be downloaded from an internet web site.
- the telephone functionality of a mobile telephone or smart phone can remain active during use of the mobile television apparatus since the audio-visual data is received by a separate receiver to the microwave receiver used to send and receive telephony signals.
- the mobile television apparatus is significantly more compact in size compared to miniature, portable televisions, and provides the additional facility to watch prerecorded films or programs.
- the mobile television apparatus also enables users of mobile data processing devices incorporating digital cameras to store large numbers of digital images or a digital video recording within the audio-visual data system.
