Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fuel tank which contains in its interior a delivery unit arranged in a surge tank, the surge tank having a bottom inlet and the feed unit consisting of a fuel pump, a return valve and an ejector.
  • Fuel ejectors of this type are used in passenger cars if the space conditions force a very flat, freely shaped shape that extends over a good part of the width of the vehicle.
  • the surge tank is provided and provided with the floor inlet, through which the ejector in the surge tank is used for the pump Sucking sufficient fluid level is maintained.
  • the smallest possible amount is diverted from the fuel supplied by the pump.
  • the main flow of fuel delivered by the pump then goes to a return valve and a partial flow to the engine via a fine filter installed somewhere in the vehicle, the residual flow flows back into the fuel tank.
  • the disadvantage of this disposition is that the fuel, although the pump has only a coarse suction filter, contains impurities that block or erode the nozzle part of the ejector. All the more so because for various reasons the nozzle cross-sections are chosen to be as small as possible. In addition, this disposition is expensive and difficult to assemble because of the parts attached to different locations.
  • the delivery unit further contains a fine filter which is flow-connected on the inlet side to the pressure side of the pump and on the outlet side to the return valve and to the ejector and that the housing of the fine filter receives the ejector in its lower region. It is particularly advantageous that the fine filter is flowed through immediately after the pump, because no fuel is branched off between them and therefore unfiltered fuel cannot get anywhere.
  • the fine filter is arranged in the conveyor unit with a vertical axis and the inlet of the fuel required by the pump is arranged on its top (claim 2).
  • the cover has a cover on which the return valve is arranged (claim 3), and even better if the cover of the cover of the fine filter is part of the return valve (claim 4).
  • the cover of the cover of the fine filter forms the housing of the return valve and takes between the Return valve and the fine filter on a first check valve (claim 5). All of these measures reduce the number of parts, which are mostly plastic injection molded parts, and simplify assembly, which overall drastically reduces the manufacturing costs.
  • the ejector consists of a nozzle part, an intake tract and a diffuser part. Another measure with the same cost-reducing effect is that the bottom part of the shell of the fine filter forms the intake tract and the diffuser part and has a cavity connected to the interior of the shell for receiving the nozzle part (claim 6) and that the cavity and the Diffuser part are coaxial with a horizontal axis and that the nozzle part can be inserted into the cavity from the side facing away from the diffuser part (claim 7).
  • the nozzle part contains a second check valve (claim 8). Thanks to this, no fuel can flow back into the sensitive nozzle part of the ejector from the bottom region of the surge tank or even the fuel tank (where solid particles always collect).

A sieve 6 is also provided under the bottom inlet 4. Inside the surge tank 2, held together by an insert 7, there is a fuel pump 10 and a fine filter 13. • Another foot part 20 ′, which is integral with the bottom 18, projects downward and runs all around in the surge tank 2, which is circular in plan.
