Abstract

 この発明は、管体と管継手との接続が簡単且つ容易に行え、水膨張部の迅速な吸水膨張により確実な止水効果を得ることができる管継手の提供を目的とする。  基材となる樹脂製の基材繊維9と、高融点水膨張樹脂材料が繊維化された水膨張繊維10と、バインダ11とを用いて不織布に加工され、加工時の熱により溶融したバインダ11で基材繊維9と水膨張繊維10とが結合された水膨張部4を形成し、上記継手本体5の管体との対向面に上記水膨張部4を一体化する。管継手1で接続する、管体2,2外周面と水膨張部4との間にほぼ均等なクリアランスCを形成する。水膨張部4の内層側に、接続部1cと一体になる保持用介装部5を設けるか、水膨張部4の外層側に水膨張部4覆う外装部8を設ける。略筒状に巻回した不織シート13の両端部13a,13aを重ね合わせて、継手本体1aの内周面に一体的に固定することを特徴とする。
