Abstract

The invention relates to an infrared radiator for thermally treating goods according to patent application DE 101 63 087, using selective transformed infrared (STIR) for drying, heating, disinfecting and sterilizing structural bodies, structural units, and construction materials. The invention involves the use of rod radiators having a reflector or of flat radiators without a reflector that are characterized by having high infrared emission values of up to 95 %, by the targeted and bound bandwidth of the emission, by the differentiated application, particularly in the presence of living things and perishable goods, by a large bandwidth of the STIR intensity ranging from 1 to 100 kW/m2, by a large bandwidth of the possible emitter temperature ranging from 100 to 1500 °C, and finally by attainable surface temperatures of the material to be treated ranging from 0 to 1000 °C.
