Abstract

Avec un appareil traditionnel ou actuel de contrôle des feux de circulation, les automobilistes ne peuvent pas savoir à quel moment le feu orange va passer au rouge. De ce fait, les automobilistes ne sont pas sûrs s'ils doivent continuer leur chemin ou arrêter leur véhicule, lorsque le feu est orange. Dans certains cas, le fait de s'arrêter prématurément peut provoquer une collision à l'arrière ou le fait de continuer sa route peut engendrer une effraction à la circulation de la part du conducteur coupable d'être passé au feu rouge. Selon cette invention, un appareil de contrôle des feux de circulation à comptage dégressif de 10 secondes permet de résoudre le problème susmentionné. Ledit appareil qui comporte trois feux, à savoir, un vert, un orange et un rouge dans une ouverture unique et dans certains cas, une flèche verte ou rouge, se présente sous forme d'un rectangle. Il diffère de la forme arrondie habituelle d'un feu dotée de 3 unités de lumière séparées. La nouveauté de cet appareil repose sur le changement du feu du vert à l'orange et puis, au rouge et sur sa forme rectangulaire comportant les feux de trois couleurs et, dans certains cas, une flèche verte ou rouge dans un boîtier unique. Ce nouvel appareil peut être disposé horizontalement ou verticalement, il utilise des diodes électroluminescentes (« DEL ») et le panneau avant a dix blocs DEL. Lorsque le feu passe du vert au rouge, un bloc DEL s'éteint, suivi des second, troisième, quatrième blocs, jusqu'au septième bloc, lorsque le feu vert allumé restant passe à l'orange. Cet appareil donne un avertissement anticipé aux automobilistes sur la modification envisagée et il leur permet de prendre les mesures adéquates (en fonction de leur vitesse et de la distance). Ce feu orange continue l'extinction des huitième, neuvième blocs et, puis, du dixième bloc, ledit panneau avant devient complètement blanc pour une seconde, avant qu'il ne passe au feu rouge. Le panneau avant de cet appareil doté d'une flèche verte destinée à permettre aux automobilistes de tourner fonctionne de façon quasi similaire à celui susmentionné, excepté lorsqu'il passe au rouge, la flèche verte apparaît et clignote pour un moment, avant que la globalité du panneau passe au rouge. Ce nouvel appareil pourvu d'une flèche clignotante rouge permettant aux automobilistes de tourner, lorsque le feu est rouge, fonctionne de la même manière que l'appareil susmentionné.
