- the invention relates to a guide rail for the valve train of an internal combustion engine, with receiving spaces containing valve tappets arranged one behind the other at intervals in the bar, flats which are formed on flats in order to secure a valve tappet against rotation about its central longitudinal axis on the lateral surface of the tappet the guide bar are supported, which are located within the associated receiving space.
- Such a guide bar is used in internal combustion engines to prevent twisting of valve lifters, which are designed as roller lifters. It also serves as an assembly aid and can be used especially for the roller tappets of a bumper valve train.
- roller tappets for certain engines with a V-shaped arrangement of the cylinders are expanded in a trumpet shape at the contact point of the bumper, since the bumper would otherwise have contact with the associated spring support plate due to its tilt angle to the longitudinal axis of the tappet. It is therefore the object of the invention to avoid such contact and to find a constructive solution for a guide rail in which valve tappets which are flared like a trumpet can be inserted and held in a simple manner.

- the receiving space of the guide rail can be assigned recesses in which the trumpet-like end of the valve lifter is arranged and held.
- the recesses in the guide bar can be designed in the form of a segment of a circle.
