Definitions
- the invention relates to a cleaning and disinfecting agent according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such agents are used in particular for cleaning beverage dispensers, where they develop their biocidal effect primarily by ensuring a strong alkaline environment. If the oxidizing effect of the agent is desired, it is usually achieved using chlorite, which is converted to chlorine dioxide as the agent is applied.
- the aim of the invention is thus a cleaning and disinfecting agent which avoids these disadvantages with constant oxidizing and disinfecting effect. It should be achieved, the cleaning and disinfecting agent in the form of a single liquid component to make the application as easy as possible.
- Claim 1 provides, in alkaline conditions of pH values above 10, preferably 12.5, to provide in addition to the chlorite bromate. As will be explained in more detail, an appreciable release of chlorine dioxide during storage of the cleaning and disinfecting agent according to the invention can be prevented by these measures. Only when it comes in the course of application by dilution of the composition according to the invention for pH reduction, chlorine dioxide is released to the desired extent.
- Claim 2 proposes an advantageous choice of Bromats and claim 3 an advantageous choice of chlorite.
- claim 4 an advantageous choice for ensuring the alkaline environment is proposed.
- Claim 6 finally gives a favorable choice of the composition of the agent according to the invention.
- Claim 7 calls the most favorable form for the storage of the agent according to the invention and claim 8 an advantageous type of application.
- Fig. 1 is a Pourbaix diagram under standard conditions for the invention relevant reactions
- FIG. 2 shows a DP (differential pulse) polarogram to means according to the invention.
- a square bracket refers to the concentration of each species. Like Eq. 1, the E h value also depends on the concentration ratio of chlorite and chlorine dioxide.
- Line 1 in Figure 1 shows the potential line for a 50:50 ratio of chlorite to chlorine dioxide, while line 2 refers to a 0.0001% release of the chlorine dioxide. If the potential according to line 2 is exceeded, only negligible amounts of chlorine dioxide are formed, and such a solution can be stored well despite the unavoidable instability of the chlorite (oxidation of water below 0 2 release).
- the decisive factor for the amount of primarily formed chlorine dioxide is the mixed potential of the solution, which can be determined by choosing a suitable ratio of chlorite to bromate and will be located between line 3 and line 4 in FIG.
- Chlorine dioxide is released in the slightest traces, but disproportionates rapidly. Chlorite is thereby recovered in half. The resulting equilibrium concentration of chlorine dioxide is low. After dilution, the decomposition of chlorite and bromate proceed essentially as in storage. Chlorine dioxide, on the other hand, is now significantly enhanced, though not released quantitatively. The now established equilibrium concentration of chlorine dioxide is high.
- Disinfectants document and are not to be understood in a limiting sense.
- the cleaning and disinfecting agent according to the invention can be used particularly expedient for beverage dispensing systems.
- the corresponding product contains 33% NaOH, 3% KOH, 2% phosphonebutanetricarboxylic acid tetrasodium salt, 2% sodium chlorite and 0.5% sodium bromate.
- This composition is characterized by frost resistance (ie no precipitation) to about -5 ° C.
- the application is carried out in a concentration of about 1 to 3 percent by volume. The release of the now formed at a reduced pH chlorine dioxide occurs quickly (less than 5 to 10 minutes).
- the concentration of chlorine dioxide (about 3 to 10 mg / l) contained in the application solution ensures that even after a relatively short reaction time (less than 20 minutes) all microorganisms living in the dispensing system are killed.
- a relatively short reaction time less than 20 minutes
- free chlorine dioxide by additional oxidative effect
- the cleaning and disinfecting agent according to the invention can also be used for CIP cleaning (as an additive): Cleaning in place (CIP) cleaning in the dairy and beverage industry usually works according to the process steps:
- a disinfection step is still downstream.
- the task of l-2% cleaning liquor is the up and release of organic contaminants in pipelines, tanks, tanks and the like.
- an oxidizing effect of the liquor is desired around certain deposits, e.g. Polyphenols, dyes, grease and resin components have included better and faster peel.
- a disinfecting action of the liquor may be desirable to kill certain alkali-resistant microorganisms, e.g. can be detected in stack containers of the CIP liquor.
- the disinfectant according to the invention can also be used for the treatment of swimming pool water:
- the formulation is modified for this purpose so that the required for the storage stability of the concentrate alkalinity is kept to a minimum (1 to 4 mol / 1). Due to the improved solubilities of sodium chlorite and sodium bromate in the absence of highest concentrations of alkali ions (especially potassium), their proportion in the concentrate can now be increased so much that a use concentration of less than 0.001% is sufficient (this corresponds to about 0.5 lt. for 50 m 3 bath water at 0.1 to 0.2 mg / 1 C10 2 ). Depending on the hardness of the water and the frequency of dosing, an excessively rapid increase in the pH of the pelvis is prevented.
