Abstract

Zur in vitro Verrnehrung von Zellen, welche auf einer Kulturfläche wachsen, wird vorgeschlagen, die Zellen auf Kulturflächen (1) auszusäen und in Kulturmedium zu kultivieren, wobei die Kulturfläche kontinuierlich oder periodisch vergrössert wird, ohne dass sie aus dem Kulturmedium entfernt wird. Für diese Kulturflächenvergrösserung werden die Zellen nicht von der Kulturfläche abgelöst und wird die Kulturfläche zwischen den Zellen vergrössert. Es können aber auch mindestens ein Teil der Zellen abgelöst werden und die Kulturfläche durch Überflutung weiterer Kulturflächenbereiche vergrössert werden. Die Kulturfläche einer beispielhaften Vorrichtung für die genannte Zellvermehrung ist die eine Seite einer expandierbaren Membran (6), die dadurch vergrössert wird, dass auf ihrer anderen Seite der Druck verändert wird. Die Zellvermehrung kann ohne manuelles Passagieren durchgeführt werden. Sie belastet die Zellen weniger als bekannte Zellvermehrungsverfahren und ist einfacher automatisierbar.
