- Bulk refuse containers are usually positioned in the street and the refuse which is thrown into it is not usually divided by type of material, but refuse with varying characteristics, such as paper, plastic, glass, etc., is thrown into the same container.
- refuse collectors exist defined by small containers in which refuse of particular types are collected.
- some containers are suitable for receiving glass, others paper, others plastic, etc; in this way it is possible to at least partially recycle the material thrown away by people.
- a purpose of the invention is that of realising a device and procedure which allow refuse or a part of it to be recycled in a simple manner and drastically limiting or eliminating the controls and checks of the material.
- Another purpose of the invention is that of realising a device and procedure which allow the amount of refuse produced by various users to be controlled; this allows, in an advantageous manner, the costs for refuse disposal to be related to the amount of refuse actually produced and, moreover, allows the type of refuse produced by each user to be checked.

- the reader/writer 5 recognises the key 7 and detects whether or not it is possible to receive the maximum amount or volume of refuse to be thrown away (determined by the maximum sum of money memorised in the key 7) and information regarding the user.
