Abstract

La présente invention concerne un téléphone portatif ou un assistant numérique personnel de petites dimensions qu'on tient à l'aide d'une main et qu'on actionne avec un doigt, cet appareil comportant au moins quatre touches sur la face du côté gauche globalement perpendiculaire à la face d'affichage, au moins trois touches et une manette quadri-directionnelle prévues sur la face du côté droit et un bouton de décrochage/raccrochage prévu sur la surface arrière pour entrer des caractères. Lorsqu'on utilise les cinq doigts d'une main pour appuyer sur les touches disposées de la sorte, on peut entrer les caractères beaucoup plus rapidement que lorsqu'on n'utilise que le pouce pour entrer les caractères. La présente invention concerne également un téléphone portatif ou un appareil d'assistant numérique personnel de petites dimensions qui comprend un total de dix-huit touches situées sur les côtés opposés. Lorsque les touches sont disposées de la sorte et que tous les doigts des deux mains sont utilisés, il est possible d'entrer les caractères beaucoup plus rapidement que lorsque les caractères sont entrés à l'aide du pouce uniquement.
