Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de caractérisation de produits en vue de déterminer leur authenticité, procédé caractérisé en ce que le produit lui-même (7) et/ou un ou plusieurs de ses éléments d'emballage (8, 9) sont munis au moins de deux marquages, et en ce qu'on utilise un premier marquage (A) variant d'un produit à l'autre et au moins un deuxième marquage (B, C) codé en fonction du premier marquage. Grâce au codage selon l'invention, les marquages appliqués sont étroitement liés entre eux et deviennent interdépendants d'une façon telle que ceci n'apparaisse pas immédiatement de l'extérieur. Ceci permet, d'une part, une protection simple et fiable du produit contre des falsifications et, d'autre part, une détermination rapide de l'authenticité par l'utilisateur du produit.
