Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft Verfahren und Vorrichtungen zur Manipulation kleiner Flüssigkeitsmengen (1) auf Oberflächen, vorzugsweise auf Chipoberflächen. Erfindungsgemäss wird eine durch ihre Oberflächenspannung zusammengehaltene Flüssigkeitsmenge auf einen Bereich einer Oberfläche mit zumindest einem Zwischenbereich (3,4) gebracht, der zumindest in einer lateralen Raumrichtung an einen Führungsstreifen (5,6) angrenzt. Erfindungsgemäss haben entweder die Führungsstreifen (5,6) gegenüber dem Zwischenbereich (3,4) derartig unterschiedliche Oberflächenbeschaffenheit, dass sie von einer Flüssigkeit stärker benetzt werden, oder der Zwischenbereich (3,4) ist gegenüber der Führungsstreifen (5,6) erhaben, wobei die Höhe der Stufe klein gegenüber der Höhe der Flüssigkeitsmenge (1) ist.
