Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé d'extraction de l'azote ammoniacal contenu dans des eaux usées pour une application utile, selon un processus chimique fondé sur l'échange d'ions, comprenant les étapes suivantes: i) première étape: adsorption de l'azote ammoniacal contenu dans les eaux usées dans une masse d'adsorption d'un échangeur d'ions; ii) deuxième étape: désorption de l'azote ammoniacal contenu dans la masse d'adsorption de l'échangeur d'ions au moyen d'une solution d'éluant contenant un sel métallique d'acide carboxylique, la masse d'adsorption étant simultanément régénérée par les ions métal dudit sel métallique; iii) troisième étape: clarification de la solution produite lors de la seconde étape, contenant l'azote ammoniacal; iv) quatrième étape: aération de la solution clarifiée contenant l'azote ammoniacal pour libérer l'azote ammoniacal sous la forme d'ammoniac; et v) cinquième étape: absorption de l'ammoniac produit lors de la quatrième étape pour une application utile.
