Abstract

The invention relates to a handgun comprising a trigger (9) which is partially surrounded by a trigger guard (11), a trigger rod which interacts with the same, and a combination lock (17) having numbered discs (23) which can rotate about an axis (19). Said combination lock co-operates with an extension (25) of the rod or an intermediate piece engaging with the same, and only allows a shot-triggering movement of the rod when it (17) is open. In order to position the combination lock (17) on the weapon, especially an automatic pistol, in a subtle manner and without changing the visual appearance of the weapon, the lock axis (19) is arranged horizontally and perpendicularly in relation to the longitudinal axis of the weapon. Said combination lock (17) is placed in front of the trigger (9) in the transitional area (15) between the trigger guard (11) and the housing or grip part (1). Preferably, the combination lock window (21) - through which the figures on the numbered discs (23) can be seen and moved - faces the trigger (9) and thus cannot be seen at first glance. The combination lock (17) is preferably coupled to a pressure safety catch (19) and the coding can preferably be changed.

All positional designations used in this text refer to a weapon in a normal position of use, i.e. with a horizontal barrel, and are seen from the shooter. For example, if a shooter holds a self-loading pistol with his right hand, his index finger is on the right and his thumb is on the left. The weapon then points "forward".

A handgun of the type mentioned above is known from US 3,735,519. This document shows a conventional submachine gun, in which a combination lock with a vertical axis is arranged above the trigger and in front of it, just behind the magazine shaft. This combination lock has three coaxial, superimposed, rotatable number disks, as is known from a simple combination lock for briefcases. There is a recess in the left side of the weapon housing, at the bottom of which sections of the three number disks are visible and can be turned with your finger. In a certain, unchangeable relative position of the three (number-bearing) number disks, a He- when moving backwards, which remains fixed in any other position of the lock. This lever is connected to the rod (sear), which is movable when the lever is released, but not when the lever is fixed.

The lever and thus also the rod and the trigger can only be moved if a specific identification number (PIN) is set using the number disks. It can only be shot with the weapon in this position.

If the weapon is not cocked and the breech is in the foremost position, the shooter can easily check whether the combination lock is locked or open by pulling the trigger. If the trigger moves noticeably backwards with your finger on the train, the combination lock is open and the weapon can be used. The combination lock can also be locked when the weapon is cocked (the lock is at the back). If the shooter wants to make sure that the loaded weapon is ready to fire or not, he must check the number setting. If he pulled the trigger and the lock would be open, a burst of fire would be released. However, this check is not possible in the dark or in the absence of time.

An older submachine gun of the type shown has a relatively large amount of free space in the housing. This is no longer the case with modern weapons. Especially in a modern self-loading pistol, a combination lock of the type shown cannot be accommodated without having to change the handle of this weapon very significantly and in an extremely unsightly manner.

Now, however, it is necessary for customers who want to buy a weapon to also like the weapon. This principle also applies to people from the military and other law enforcement officers who are acquiring new ones Weapons are entrusted. A safety device that disfigures the weapon is therefore an extremely large obstacle to sales and can therefore not be accepted.

It is also necessary for safety devices that they are not too noticeable. A criminal or other opponent who seizes a gun in a hand-to-hand fight and wishes to use it immediately should not be able to use a security lock.

On the other hand, the well-known security lock with rotating number disks has a whole range of advantages compared to all electronic security devices. Because it does not need a battery and is still fully operational even after decades without any maintenance.

Security locks with keys are also known. After losing the key, a weapon equipped and secured with such a lock is useless at least for the moment.

There are also locks with several handles that must be pressed in or left in a certain pattern to release the weapon. Such a self-loading pistol, which is known from US Pat. No. 5,946,841, is equipped with four pushers which are arranged in a clearly visible manner in a handle extension under the slide. However, there are only a total of 16 adjustment options; a rascal who steals the weapon from his grandfather to show off to his playmates could decode the lock combination in a few minutes.

It has also been proposed to equip handguns with rotating number disks. However, the latter are either arranged in areas where they are in direct contact with the hand gripping the weapon when firing. tact come (US 5 743 039) and so could be adjusted unintentionally, or require a considerable widening of the handle of the weapon (can be removed from US 5 930 930).

Moreover, there has been a need for decades to manufacture a weapon, especially a handgun, which, if it falls into the wrong hands, cannot be used at least for a short time. The latter case, in particular, when children get hold of a weapon unsupervised and fiddle with it, often ends tragically. However, if, for example, a burglar steals a weapon and then a mechanic can calmly process it in a workshop, it will in any case be usable again, regardless of how complex the fuses used were.

The invention is intended to improve the known weapons mentioned above.

Based on this problem, the invention has the primary object of developing a handgun of the type mentioned in such a way that its combination lock, which consists of coaxial, rotatable dials, enables safe handling of the handgun and is inconspicuous and the weapon as a whole is not disfigured.

In particular, the invention strives for a self-loading pistol in which a combination lock of the type mentioned at the outset is arranged in an easily accessible but discreet manner and without any decoration. An economical production is to be aimed for.

"Combination lock" is understood here to mean a device with at least one rotatable number disc, which has a number of characters distributed over the circumference, which for the sake of simplicity are called "digits" here are, but also logos or the like. could be. The or everyone

With a whole series of rifles, a pressure safety device is attached at this point, i.e. a safety bolt that horizontally penetrates the transition between trigger guard and housing in the transverse direction and protrudes on the right or left side of the transition, depending on whether it is secured or not. This transition only has to be widened slightly for the invention in order to accommodate the combination lock instead of a known securing bolt, the diameter of which, however, exceeds that of the securing bolt.

In the case of a self-loading pistol, the impression of a clunky transition can be reduced even further by arranging the lower edge of the lower part of the front part of the handle piece lower, so that the viewer does not have the feeling that this part of the weapon is like this something voluminous like a combination lock hidden.

The combination lock can have any number of number disks, and each number disk can carry any number of digits within limits. However, the more digits there are, the larger the diameter water of the combination lock, and the more number discs there are, the longer the combination lock. In order not to make the number of possible combinations of the setting too small, however, at least three number disks should preferably be provided. According to the invention, a compromise is chosen that consists of three number disks (claim 2) with 10 digits each (claim 3). The resulting number of combinations is large enough to minimize the possibility of finding the combination by playing around with it. Any number can be selected as a combination within 000 and 999. If the combination lock can be set by the user himself, he can set it to the number between 000 and 999, which he can easily reproduce even if he should forget it, such as the last three digits of his ID card number.

The number disks can be largely exposed. A marking then indicates the point at which the combination is to be set. Preferably, however, only a relatively small window is provided, through which the combination can be recognized and adjusted, for example by means of a fingernail or a pointed object.

The combination to be set could be visible in a forward-facing window of the transition, which would have the advantage of being easily recognizable and adjustable. According to the invention, however, it is particularly advantageous to arrange the window within the trigger guard so that it points to the rear and faces the trigger (claim 4).

This not only has the advantage that the user does not have to look in the direction of the muzzle when viewing and adjusting the combination lock, but also has the further advantage that the combination of numbers does not change due to rubbing in the pocket in which the weapon is carried can; especially the one Advantage that the combination of numbers is only visible in a discrete and inconspicuous place, so that the fleeting viewer will generally not grasp that it is a weapon with a safety lock.

One of the main disadvantages of the known submachine gun with combination lock mentioned above is the fact that the shooter can only make sure - for example in the dark - whether the combination lock is locking or the shot is released by pulling the trigger. For this reason, the invention provides a display by means of which the user can make sure of the state of the combination lock (locked or open) (claim 5). Using this display, such as a signal pen, the shooter can make sure of the state of the combination lock, even if he should not be able to see at a glance whether the correct combination has been set or not. This means that the firearm's readiness to fire can be checked safely even in the dark.

Preferably (claim 6), a safety device (an operating lever, operating button or the like) is provided, the position of which (safe or fire) can be felt by the operator, as usual. The combination lock does not immediately release the trigger rod or an intermediate piece, but the fuse, which can only be unlocked if the combination lock is open. The fuse in turn now releases the operation of the weapon. If the fuse is now on "fire", then the combination lock must be open. If the safety device is set to "Safe" and cannot be moved to the "Fire" position, the combination lock locks. If the shooter wants to make sure of the state of the combination lock, all he has to do is operate the fuse, which he can do in a safe manner. If the user threatens to lose the weapon in a melee, he may still be able to move the safety to the "safe" position so that the weapon cannot be fired directly. An actuating element is preferably coupled to the fuse, which adjusts the counter when it is being secured, so that the weapon cannot be unlocked again until the number combination of the counter has not been reset.

The fuse is preferably designed as a pressure fuse, which in turn is formed by the axis of the combination lock (claim 7). Pressure protection at the point of transition is already known per se. The secured pressure lock can only be pushed in if the combination of the combination lock has been set. If the pressure lock is pushed in and therefore unlocked, it locks the combination lock so that it cannot move. Even if the number discs, e.g. by the trigger finger of the user, they can not be adjusted, so that the weapon remains reliably ready to fire.

It is not only important that the weapon according to the invention is not used by an unauthorized person, but also important that it remains reliably usable in an emergency. This essential feature is ensured by the development according to the invention.

In addition, with a modern self-loading pistol, securing at this point is highly unusual, so that even if an enemy looted the weapon in a melee, he would not discover the pressure protection without a thorough examination of the weapon beforehand.

1 to 3 show at first glance a conventional self-loading pistol according to the Colt-Browning principle, with a handle 1 made of plastic, which is reinforced with steel inserts, a closure or slide 3 and a barrel 5. In one piece with the handle 1 is a trigger guard 11 is formed, which merges into the handle 1 at its front upper end in a transition 15. The pistol has a cock 7 and a cocking trigger 9, which in the relaxed state of the weapon (FIGS. 1 to 3) is inevitably connected to the cock 7, ie if the relaxed cock 7 moves backwards, it must also move pull trigger 9 backwards. There is also a locking catch lever on each side of the pistol (for convenient operation by both right-handed and left-handed users) with a continuous shaft; this assembly is designated 13 in total. New and therefore unusual is an overall cylindrical, horizontal, transverse combination lock 17 which penetrates the transition 15. This combination lock has three coaxial number or number disks 23. The

Transition 15 has a window 21 facing the trigger 9, through which a combination set by the number disks 23 is visible and adjustable. The axis of the combination lock 17 is designed as a push-button lock 19.

The push button fuse 19 is visible on both sides of the gun (Fig. 1 and 2). If it projects on the left side (FIG. 1) over the left surface of the transition 15 and on the right side (FIG. 2) is essentially flush with the right surface of the transition 15, the weapon is secured and the combination lock 17 can have any position of the number disks 23. This position of the combination lock 17 is shown in FIG. 7.

If the push-button safety device 19 is pressed in on the left side until it is approximately flush with the left surface of the transition 15, then it protrudes on the right side of the pistol over the right surface of the transition 15 and the weapon is unlocked. This position of the combination lock 17 is shown in FIG. 8. With the index finger (the trigger finger) the respective position of the push button lock 19 can be felt, regardless of whether the user holds the pistol with the right or the left hand.

If the push-button lock 19 is pushed in from the right-hand side beyond the secured position (but with the number combination set) by means of a cartridge tip or another tool into an end position, the combination of the number disks 23 can be changed through the window 21. This location of the Combination lock 17 is shown in FIG. 9. If the push button lock is moved back to one of the operating positions (Fig. 7 or 8), the new combination remains valid until it is set again.

Fig. 3 shows that the number disks 23 are not recognizable to the casual observer. The numbers are introduced into the outer circumference of the number disks 23 and are oriented in such a direction that when a combination of numbers is set (if the numbers have to be viewed and of course stand upright) the muzzle of the handgun points away from the user.

Near its right end, the push-button fuse 19 still has a recess or transverse groove 27 in the interior of the transition 15, which opens into a longitudinal groove which is formed in the handle 1 when the push-button fuse 19 is pressed to the right. A rod extension 25, which is connected to the trigger 9, runs in this longitudinal groove (FIGS. 4 to 6).

This rod extension 25 extends from the back and up to the front and down as well as across the pushbutton fuse 19 and ends when the trigger 9 is not actuated and the cock 7 is released just behind the pushbutton fuse 19 (FIGS. 4 and 5). If the pushbutton lock 19 or the pushbutton is in the "safe" position (FIG. 7), then the rod extension 25 pushes against the pushbutton when trying to actuate the trigger 9, so that the trigger 9 does not follow can move behind. However, this also means that the relaxed cock 7 cannot be moved, and this inhibits the closure, so that it cannot be moved either.

The transverse axis of the locking catch device 13 also has a transverse groove (no reference symbol) through which the rod extension 25 runs. If the deduction 9 is not withdrawn, the rod extension 25 accordingly blocks the movement of the said transverse axis in its longitudinal direction, so that the pistol cannot be dismantled.

If the push button is moved to the position in FIG. 8 (“unlocked”), the transverse groove 27 lies in front of the front end of the rod extension 25 (FIG. 5). Now the trigger 9 can be removed (Fig. 6), because the rod extension 25 can move into the transverse groove 27. At the same time, the rod extension 25 emerges further out of the transverse groove of the transverse axis of the breech catcher 13, so that it can now be removed and the pistol can then be further dismantled.

The combination lock 17 shown in FIGS. 7 to 9 can be seen in the cut transition 15 and is viewed from the front. The right-hand side of FIGS. 7 to 9 corresponds to the left-hand side of the handgun, since this is viewed from behind, ie from the shooter (the muzzle points forward).

The combination lock 17 has the pushbutton of the pushbutton lock 19 as an axis. Sitting on this axis, starting from the end with the transverse groove 27, are three successive number disks 23. These have a ring-like outer ring which bears the numbers 0 to 9 on its outside. In this outer ring there is in each case an axially parallel blind hole open towards the transverse groove 27, which receives a detent spring and a detent ball.
